@@Ravenbones In a way if there were beings from another dimension,hypothetically our forms of reasoning are so different that them trying to step down their perceptions may seem simple to us. Maybe things in a higher dimension are more demanding in some aspects, while less in others so to diagnose their perspective to ours would be absolutely wild in comparison. Also, by their perspective, would they be 5th dimensional or 4th? From what I've seen from this video I would assume 4th dimension just based off what off what physics tells us because their kind of flowing with time and through it, while 5th dimensional beings would view the 4th dimension like we view a 2D one. At some point you do lose the ability to interact with lower dimensions to a point based off of multiple theories. In the long run, who really knows?
@blanktrigger88633 ай бұрын
@@fatcheeseypants You're somewhat on the money. The beings in this movie admit that they're studying humans because they don't understand things like hope and individuality. They aren't blatantly superior. They're superior in some ways, but inferior in others.
@joshanonline2 ай бұрын
@@fatcheeseypants The Serie 'Fringe' also has a plot based on 4th dimensional humans, which is more flesh-out than this movie. The aliens here have a 4th dimensional perspective. To a 5th dimensional entity, the timeline of the entire universe would probably be just a static stream of energy filaments that depending viewing angle, looks like a ball or lines. Because everything already happened, you'd only see relative transitions. Does not matter how high of a dimension an entity is, they are bound to experience some form of 'time' because what we call 'Time' is basically what allows movement through the medium we call 'space.' You can have 10 dimensions, but if movement isn't permitted, times wont' exist, change won't exist, consciousness can't exist. A universe without time would like exactly the same as it was created no matter which section you look from in the 5th dimension. And thus, 4th dimensional aliens can't exist because there is no 'moment' to be between existence and non-existence.
@ethribin4188Ай бұрын
@@joshanonline theres a reason why in physics time is considered a unique seperate dimension from all spaceial dimensions. While mathamatically, they function the same, as dimensions, in reality they each function as something seperate. Time is a dimension on top of all other dimensions of space. Always. Thats what makes it special. As, just as ypu said, it is the observers way to travel and exist within space.

time isn't the dimension we imagine it to be. time is space, you cannot move through one relative to something without moving through the other relative to that same something. Space and Time are two words for the same thing, viewed from different perspectives. we perceive time as a separate dimension because of the way we think about it. All movement is relative to something. Want to time travel? move relative to something, you have just time travelled. There is no actual past or future, those are two concepts born from a misunderstanding. time is not a two directional string you can travel back and forth along. Any time you find yourself thinking about time this way, replace the concept of time with the concept of moving through space, they are the same thing. the universe is dynamic and spatial relationship between objects is constantly changing, that change is not recorded as a past and future, it's just change. we can record changes and it's how we think, but it's not how the universe works, it's just how we understand it. we break it down into a series of changes that allows us to understand the relationship between those changes. that is why we have this notion of a time dimension with a past and a future. there is no past and future to travel to, we are already there.

Dude, time is just a vibration of matters. If you stop matters from vibrating completely, then you stop time. And no, you can't travel back to the past. You can technically travel to the future by slowing down the vibration of your matters in respective to surrounding matters by reaching the speed of light in vacuum. But it's a one-way street. Time is just human romanticism of causality of matters.

10 years from now is the future. 10 years ago is the past. I do not presently reside in my 10 year younger me and I certainly do not presently reside insdie of the future 10 your older me. Sure, time is relative, but so is space. Space and time are, in fact, two different distinctive elements that can be measured. And yes, while time is just a matter of perception, that in of itself doesnt deny its existence as an element to viewed, weighed, and measured on its own.

Reminds me a lot of the story "Flatland." If you learn about all of the 9 dimensions, you can see that the higher you go, the more "magic" abilities you gain. Even just in the 4th dimension...a being would be able to see all of this timeline at once (past, present, and future,) they would have abilities that, to us, look like superpowers (invisibility, walking through solid objects, watching us without us being able to see them, seeing and reaching through solid objects such as removing an object locked in a safe, without damaging the safe at all, ect.) And the higher the dimension, the more space/time "magic" the beings would have. It's really fascinating ❤

Just as all TV shows being broadcast at a given moment are on different wavelengths that only need to be tuned in to, so all moments in time are on different wavelengths. A Time Machine would not travel through time, it would just dial into a different frequency which would make either a past or future moment appear.

Why does this 'Sheeforeman' who spells his name like Cipher man? The philosophical implications of this movie are believed to be true by a significant number of physicists. The past, present and future are already 'baked in' and that there is no self determinism. While our entire lives has already been determined, we are only cognizant of the past. future. They show the past and future have both happened and equally influence each other. A 5th or higher dimensional being would experience all time and space instantly, so their confusion is understood.

Its an interesting concept. Especially if you want to think about whether past or future exists. I mean the past is what your brain rememebers. It doesnt really exist. The future is something that your brain anticipates and extrapolates from the present and past. That too does not exist outside of your head. In reality, there is always only the present. Neither past nor future exist in the traditional sense, both being illusions/function of the mind. As for whether or not you can leave the constraint of the present and move freely through time like the physical 3D world...? Well thats an interesting concept too and i guess in a way it would end up with the same conclusion the movie does. If you see everything in front of you from start to finish and your choices do not matter cause the so called future does not change because it already happened... i guess your ego would disappear. The traditional human psyche would not be able to deal with that. Changes and adaptations would be inevitable.

"humanity lives in 2 dimensional space" Incorrect. We live in 3 dimensional space. And that's suprisingly important. As the way physics works, 3 dimensions allow physics to work in a way that allows life. 1 dimension more or less, and life couldnt work.
@FiltyIncognito6 ай бұрын
It's irrelevant. We are what we are. To go beyond time would mean a fundamentally different existence. It'd be like hiring a flower to manage to be your lawyer. The degree of separation from one thing to the other is so distant that the concerns of either are meaningless to each. A person could correctly tell those aliens about all the benefits they're missing by not being able to experience a human's existence, just like the alien seemed to be telling the main character about the alien's perspective of things. But it's pointless. The only thing that matters is whether the two different species can co-exist peacefully.

I think time is just a construct and it doesn't actually exist, but gets used because it's helpful to humans to do certain things, time is simply a tool, but before we discovered why we actually age and die as consequence, we thought sickness was the reason and we perceived time as a real thing, now we know we age because a certain type of cells in our body degenerate with the years and once it starts running out, we have no more stem cells to create newer cells in our body or tissues to repair for damages that we constantly have, OR self induce with our immune system, that both kills the viruses and infections but damages our own body in the process, we used to think time was the thing that makes our body age and die, but it's simply the lack of newer cells that can repair us that create sicknesses as consequences, our lungs can't be anymore efficient as they used to, our heart can't sustain a fast rate beat as it once could and so on, so we know time is indeed a lie, but since it's so useful as a tool we'll use it, plus it's not that we can actually have some other option outside of time, we are only 3 dimensional creatures so we can't even say fuck this system Imma leave to go to another dimension.

The fact that "Time" is a "Concept," should tell you it is not real. It is our best explanation of root causality; A construct, we invented, to mark occasions and milestones in our "Lives." Time is a dimension, not a linear flow of causal links. Bron to lose in a prison cell, made of cells.

My view on the matter, the concept of time is relative. firstly, the idea of past and future or yesterday and tomorrow is only in our consciousness. There is always only the now, this moment. we cannot ever appear in the past or future because it simply doesn't exist. The movement of the sun, moon and stars contribute to the illusion of time, our mortality and the fact that our physical body expires contribute to the illusion of time. therefore to us , time becomes real through our perception. i believe the bubble of "time" is awareness. once one becomes aware through birth, they have entered into this bubble of reality. the physical being that ages, coupled with the changing environment gives the illusion of the passing of time. However, take away the mortality and the things in our environment that brings the illusion of time, and we are simply left with awareness and distance. as long as we are confined to this physical body, we will perceive time or time will affect us. hopefully we will be free of this physical body, then we will see the truth, that time was really imposed on us, as a means of suppression and control. by E. Anthony

Questions like "what if time didn't exist" are a bit like "what if there were valleys without mountains". There is no practical result to be acquired from this concept, except if we were really able to experience something beyond time, such as prescience. Which we don't. At least not consistently.

Here's the dilemma. If time doesn't exist, then none of our choices mean anything. All possible outcomes are happening and have already happened right? Every decision creates new possibilities and so on, to infinity. So they're saying that all infinite possible outcomes have happened? That's nuts. I can't comprehend that. Even a 5th dimensional being wouldn't be able to see all possible outcomes.
@visalserei5 ай бұрын
Maybe they can see all the possible outcomes but to us we only make one decision and create one outcome. Those 5th dimension literally create a reality where we chose other possibilities but in our reality none of that exist and we can only create one outcome. In a sense those 5th dimensional beings create the possibilities outcome for us with their power.

Eg time to be a blueprint and variable..so then incorporating the values to present like developing a universal equation incorporating all conditions of different planets and then deriving the quantum physics equation pertaining to the homeplanets... For as long as entropy exists, time will as well. For time measures the rate by which entropy changes. This is why a perfect crystal, at 0 Kelvin will stay the same for eternity and isn't affected by the passage of time.
@En_theo6 ай бұрын
Idk, after a long time, entropy can decrease "by chance" (but is it chance if you leave a system evolve for 10^10^10 years ?). Entropy "tends" to increase but it's not always the case.
@tembo68966 ай бұрын
@@En_theo Both of you are waffling. Time doesn't measure the rate by which entropy changes. Entropy just tells us what phenomenon will be spontaneous and hence tells us how the time will flow. The 3rd thermodynamic law says that a solid at 0K is perfect but if you just transfer some heat to it (thus change its temperature), it will start to have imperfections. Entropy in the universe can either increase or stay constant (2nd thermodynamic law), but the entropy of a system can decrease (if the environment entropy increases sufficiently).

We're in a "block universe" where all points in time (past, present, and future) exist as coordinates and not as a 'flow'. The universe is a four-dimensional block where what we perceive as the past, present, and future coexist as one unit of spacetime in the form of these coordinates in a fabric. 'Now' is just an indexical term, much like 'here' referring to wherever and whenever you are located within the block's coordinates. Time is an emergent property i.e. a series of interconnected 'now' states and coordinates. Memory, anticipation, planning, personal history etc. are an illusion and we are really in a constant state of immediate experience, with real change or progression.
@theexchipmunk4 ай бұрын
To make this a bit simpler to understand, time is a dimension too, we are just limited in how we can "move" in it. Best practical example is the following: If you are going to meet someone, you need more that just the spacial coordinates, the where. You also need the temporal coordinates, the when. Without the second, you could pass by in the same place without ever meeting. Aka, being there at different times.

Reminds me of the deep lore of The Elder Scrolls game series. Where the living humanoids on the planet were originally "spirits" (Gods in our eyes) who had no limits, nor were constrained by time or space. They could be anywhere, and be anything they wanted. Yet now are unknowingly stuck in a perpetual loop of birth, life, death and rebirth. Living finite, violent lives. Bound by only being capable of existing in a singular location within a linear time. The majority completely unaware of their prison, or trail depending on your worldview. Similarly, the beings that retained their "godlike" status are said to exist in a eternal "godspace" where all time occurs at the same time. Not just the normal linear time, but all possible timelines, all happen in a singular moment. Explaining why those godlike beings can still be deceived or undermined, as they are spending a singular eternal moment trying to speak with and act on the mortal plain, all at once.

We live in a constant state of the present moment of now. It is constantly changing. Humans created the concept of time. Our brains are not developed enough to comprehend anything beyond what we currently understand. Perhaps someday that will change and when or if it does, we will then take the necessary steps towards dropping the concept of time from our current understanding.

That's an interesting notion, time does not exist? we have been programmed to measure time in our form in this dimension. We are unaware that other dimensions exist and that we are already part of it. This brings me to the question, if we are supposed to be one consciousness and are here to experience life, then what is the point of it all? If time does not exist and we have already lived this life then why are we sent back to try and remember or to live a different experience, being given a different set of circumstances to see how we would react to it and how we would do it differently or would we end up in the same situation no matter our circumstance? Can we break our programming or is everything already predetermined and set and, we just live and attract the same outcome again and again in each lifetime? Maybe we can break this cycle and that is the reason for all this, the reason for this existence, its to realise that we are greater than all this, that we are being's who live beyond time and space but don't know it yet, that's is why we are sent back to this dimension until we realise it and break free to become our higher self and become our true self, maybe that is the key that we need to know and the knowledge that each of us has forgotten? Peace and Love and I hope you realise and discover your true purpose in this life.
