Death awareness. We live in a death denying culture. If we contemplated and meditated on the changing nature of life, including the inevitability of death then we individually and collectively as a world, may well benefit from that. Contemplating the teachings of Buddhism is a good place to start.

That’s why you have to be ready to die at all times, become as light as possible 💪🏼 that includes your to do list of things you wish you got to do. This 3D world is experienced by us in such a short speck of time that if you were to plot it on a graph we would barely, it all, be able to see it. And as time goes on, that speck becomes less and less significant. Whether or not there’s a purpose or afterlife, it’s probably not up to us. All we can live by is our truths, written in the DNA of a newborn baby..eat, sleep, love (replaced by sex later)

@Jackie O' nassa I am the Son of God. How can God create something that is not of Himself? The Commandments are pure science, misconstrued as morality, or moulded into laws with exemptions. Thou shalt not kill, meant exactly that. The more exemptions we create, the closer we are to genocide. Love of the Father (or the Mother, for that matter) is not Idol Worship that seeks special treatment. I don't believe in the Chosen One's, or that truth is the monopoly of one religion or belief system. Have a beautiful day.

One of the stupidest things that humanity has done has been to get away from its agrarian Roots. The failure to maintain legacies of animal husbandry and regional control over food supply coupled with building megacities whose populations are unsustainable when Walmart cannot function is the most shortsighted stupid shit ever.

People say the world is not overpopulated but, I was in a traffic jam on the highway in the middle of nowhere for no reason only because of too many truckers and too many cars. So, there's too many people but, we can't afford a third lane on the highway? We're definitely overpopulated without the means to fulfill our needs.

Well that’s dumb because what do you suggest? For people to stop having sex? We are living longer than ever before. Maybe nothing was ever supposed to be sustainable. There's just so much more to life than we can even begin to imagine, and so very much we've ignored and completely misunderstood. The way the world has become is really no surprise - something needed to happen to slow things down and hopefully bring the world to its senses. In his teachings, Nichiren Daishonin states that, although the lion is the king of beasts that cannot be beaten, a tiny parasite can enter its body and easily destroy it - it's a perfect example of the world right now, methinks. Perhaps after this Nature will gain a whole new kind of respect and the world will become a far better place - humankind will rise to a whole new level and there will be at least some peace for all the other creatures as well, especially where humans are concerned - we have no right to kill and steal the flesh of our fellow sentient beings, be it bats or livestock etc, nor to make money from doing it. Instead of fame, power and wealth the main goals need to become compassion, and the protection and respect for all other living things, including each other - sincere gratitude for what we have and the chance we've all had to exist. I believe they are some of the main qualities that we all need to manifest in order to survive this dreadful predicament we've brought upon ourselves - and to avoid more of the same in the future, or even worse. We need to earn a chance to survive the effects from our past causes, by making new and far better causes now and in the future, and to stick to them. We humans will need to learn from all this to survive and carry on - we need to realise once and for all, that no matter what we choose to believe or not - Nature will always have the final say... Something else that Nichiren wrote regarding when a situation arises that points to the end of our life and we want to survive it = just prayer may not be enough - we need to present a good enough positive reason for overcoming our situation and living on to be worthy of such. This is such an important time and opportunity for us to awaken others to the Mystic Law Itself - it's such a vital opportunity and I hope my bio Saved By The Buddha Within, published last year, which contains a dream that I had back in 1976 while in London, predicting this virus and pretty well everything else that's happening right now - will also help towards awakening others to the Mystic Law at this extremely crucial time. ( In case you are thinking I have made this post to promote my book - that's as futile as thinking I caused the virus to promote my book. More than anything else, my bio is full of incredible and valuable lessons that I've been fortunate enough to learn during my turbulent life, and which can help others, just as the same lessons have helped me). For those who may think what I'm saying is BS etc, please think about how evil Japan was until it was brought to its knees in WW2 - it changed dramatically and became one of the most peaceful and respectful countries on Earth. No, it didn't become perfect, but it became so much better, mainly thanks to all the people who struggled in the aftermath to spread the Mystic Law, when freedom of religion was finally declared in Japan. Yes, today the Law has been taken advantage of, misused and twisted, I know, and many have been using It instead to manipulate others into adhering to self-idolisation and the idolisation of others etc, and now everything's becoming a mess again. It's so vitally important right now to go back to the originally written teachings Niochiren left and put things right. The fertilizer for growth and improvement is all around us right now, and it's another extraordinary opportunity to spread the awareness of the Mystic Law Myoho-Renge-Kyo Itself - not just in Japan, but throughout the whole world. As I'm sure people you would know about, such as Boy George, Tina Turner and Orlando Bloom, just to name just a few, would wholeheartedly agree that chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo can bring forth inner wisdom, strength and good fortune that can allow us to change any poison into medicine. Peace to you all and thank you for reading this. My prayers are with you all - let's come together like never before and win this war. PS: 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within' is an amazingly enlightening new bio that's available at Amazon books

I think that has less to do with "insecurity" and more to do with knowing some facts about the complete unsustainability of our global system and not being in DENIAL of that. Either people are not aware of those facts, or if they are, they retreat in sheer denial. I mean, you just cannot have an "infinite growth paradigm" in a finite planet.. that's just common sense, but people's capacity to ignore how disturbingly flawed our present socio economic system is usualy superseeds their capacity to acknowledge that. Cognitive dissonance is huge. Just look at works like "How Everything Can Collapse" by Servigne and see if you can deal with your cognitive dissonance

Saulo Marcussi No doubt lots of people live in denial. No doubt we cannot just continue to mindlessly breed and consume these finite resources. We will have challenges to overcome viral, human, climate otherwise. Outside of that there seems to be a phenomenon where in a person ties their own mortality with a greater end, like an apocalypse or something. Can you or anyone affirm what I’m seeing here?
@saulomarcussi1805
@saulomarcussi1805 3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinhinds4625 I fully agree with you on that part.. in my opinion that phenomenon happens systemically and can be sourced in the archetypical (abrahamic) religious narrative that have externalized the greatest individual fear (death) onto a collective hallucinatory cenario generally called apocalypse. So when we see people who are kind of obssessed with the "end of the world" story, what we see is that such person is just projecting their own fear of death to encompass the whole world. In other words, they are actually talking of the end of THEIR world upon death, but unconsciously externalizing that end to include the whole world. I do not agree that this is merely insecurity coming from the guest, but a well informed assertion, 'cause unfortunately there is definitive evidence that the way we insist with the present socioeconomic regime is not going to extend our collective existence for many dacades into the future, as many would LIKE to believe.. the odds point that "in our lifetime" is a much more accurate assessment of the complete destabilization that is going to happen to our fragile social fabric in case a profoundly serious revision of this paradigm is not undertook pretty fucking soon.

Justin Dunlap Fascism is perpetrated by the dominant power structure. The left has not been in power and has not been running the government or society. If the left had been running the country, we never would have gone to war in Iraq, we would already have M4All, the Green New Deal, and Bernie Sanders would be the Democratic candidate. Republicans have been running the show for over 40 years. Even Clinton and Obama, the only two Democrat presidents we have had, cannot be considered to be leftists in any real meaningful way. Clinton signed NAFTA (which was a Republican plan from the start and the majority of Democrats in Congress opposed it), the Republican Crime Bill, and the Republican Welfare Reform Bill. Obama kept Bush’s economic advisers, continued Bush’s Wall Street bailout, and continued the War on Terror as proscribed by the Heritage Foundation’s “Project for a New American Century” plan for the Middle East. Leftists have always been the marginalized group in the US. Before the Iraq War, the only people to recognize that the mainstream media and the Bush Administration were lying about the existence of WMDs in Iraq were progressives and those progressives were the only people to oppose the war in Iraq. The few journalists to question the war were blacklisted and people like Phil Donahue lost his tv show and was kicked off the air completely. Conservatives and centrists fell for the WMD narrative hook, line, and sinker and they completely supported the war. Saying that leftists are “fascists” is ridiculous. Leftists just have not had power. It is the conservative right wing that has completely dominated the political sphere in this country and it’s their policies that have brought the country where it is. Taxes for the wealthy haven’t been this low since before the Great Depression. It’s the conservatives’ free trade policies that sold out American jobs to overseas countries. The conservatives have set the agenda politically and economically. About the only sphere in which leftists have been able to obtain any concessions from the right has been in some social aspects: gay rights for instance. In trying to blame leftists for the country’s ills, including labeling them to be “fascists,” you’re doing exactly what they’re talking about in this video: creating a scapegoat out of those who do not have power and do not bear responsibility for the policies by which the country is run. It’s the exact same thing Hitler and the Nazis did in labeling the Jews as being the cause of all of Germany’s problems. In labeling leftists as the source of the country’s problems, you’re actually revealing yourself to be exactly that which you accuse leftists of being: a fascist. If leftists had been running the country and leftist policies had been employed for the past 40 years, you might have a point; but you don’t. None of any major leftist policies have been implemented in the past 40 years and conservatives have essentially gotten everything they wanted. So, you cannot blame leftists for the state of the nation and you certainly cannot accuse the people who do not have power and are not in control of being fascists. That is utterly absurd.
@justindunlap6009
@justindunlap6009 3 жыл бұрын
keir farnum I don’t disagree with a lot of that. The majority of the boomer generation has at every turn sought to enrich itself at the expense of the future and that is not a republican or Democrat thing. The ‘axis of evil’ was definitely a scapegoat for 9/11 and resulted in the longest military conflict in American history. Nation building is a bad and not the way to go about spreading your influence. NAFTA was as I described in my second sentence. Monetary policy is completely out of control and getting far worse even today. The government agencies that provided ‘evidence’ for the Iraq war are the same that provided the ‘evidence’ for ‘Russian collusion’ so I don’t think those agencies qualify as conservative republican. There have been some wonderful liberal changes in this country regarding individual rights, and expansion of gay rights is excellent. The crime bill signed by Clinton was bad, turns out declaring war is not the best problem solving technique for any problem. War on drugs, war on crime, war on poverty, war on terror, war on climate change, war on systemic white racism- none of these wars regardless of your intentions are going to provide the results you’d like to see. A broken clock is correct twice a day so I don’t think that the people who hated bush and made cases against every thing he did were necessarily right about everything they said. It’s easy to point at wmd in Iraq and in hindsight they were correct about that as far as we know. Im not a climate fatalist so I think the green new deal will have opportunity costs that prohibit it from winning its ‘climate change war’. It will also leave some civilization carnage in its wake and that must be accounted. You pointed at the last 40 years and blamed it all on conservatives though you admit they were not in power the whole time. In America, when we pass legislation, because of the two party system we have, there will be fingerprints from both sides on the outcomes. All that aside, modern fascism comes from the left. Deplatforming ideas you don’t like, rioting as a means for change, casting all of your adversaries into a morally corrupt group, all fascist techniques. All cops are bad, fascist. All white people are racist, fascist. Let’s riot, fascist. The Latin fascis literally means ‘bundle’. There are currently no republicans engaged in that bundling and forceful suppression of people or ideas. If you think republicans are secretly engaged in that thru subversive cultural and systemic means, you may be suffering from paranoid delusion. But we do agree on some things
