No ,he deserves rescept because he was a human being that that made some Mistakes in his life. But then again who doesn't? He had to pay for it the rest of his life. Does he have to pay for it again after his death?? I guess That He does !! He didn't know what was going to happen to him , and that he was going to lose everything that was important to him. His wife and Son , his career his health and have to live on a very small amount of money from the Government that he had brought to the attention of the world. Because of the Easybeats and Stevie wright I bet that Australia had a lot of people that went there for holidays 😢 And that's the thanks he was given. 🎉 And mean comments and jokes about his troubles and the additions . He did try to get help for it 🎉 It is not his fault that they were quack's !! Mad Scientist and that used him and others as Ginny pig 🐷. Fried his brain 😢😢 with as far as we know at least 14 electric shock treatment's 😢 and a cocktail of drugs that nobody knows what was in there 😢😢😢. He suffered from brain Damage the rest of his life 😢😢😢. And health problems I'm sure that he would never have tried it. 😢😢

I keep going in cycles with my music, and my watching got me from the one and only to the one and only Stevie Wright. Once again, I am filled with love and sadness. I am his age now (68), and it hurts even more to see him in such a fragile state. I know he's rockin' free in heaven - forever.

Three years after Stevie Wright's passing,it is still difficult and always will be difficult to see how seriously ill he was in the last few years of his life. I am very grateful to Scott McCrae for bringing Stevie Wright to life in his stage show, I'm sorry Scott isn't doing it anymore. Despite not having been born when The EasyBeats were at the height of their fame in the mid-1960s,they are my favourite group after The Beatles.

Poor bugger, broke my heart to see him like that. I saw him perform in Long Way to the Top; The crowd was so silent and still and I remember thinking, poor darlin, is he going to be able to do this and when he started singing Evie, I was totally blown away and felt so privileged to be there, right in that moment. I was born in 75 and never had the chance to see Stevie perform live; I'll now be forever grateful I had that chance. Thank you Chris and Scott for doing this.

Growing up in the 60's, The Easybeats were one of my favorite bands during the dominant 'British Invasion'. These Aussies could hold their own against any band in the world, imo. Stevie Wright was the quintessential frontman in a group of talented yet underrated musicians to which we rarely see in this day & age. May his legacy live forever in the annals of pop music. RIP, Stevie Wright. It's because of him I'll always have "Friday On My Mind!"

In 1995, I attended a concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, billed as "Best of British 60's" (The Promoter was John Whale). Opening the show was The Easybeats . Their songs were from the Wright/Young songwriting era, opening with "She's so fine". Stevie wasn't doing somersaults on the night, but he was leaping. It was quite a contrast to his appearance just a few years later in the Long Way to the Top Concert tour, where he was sitting down.

I believe that the UK music industry and the morons that was in charge of it and making all the worst decisions on what was going to be released was out of their minds 😢😢😢😢. They had no idea what was happening with the youth of of the day 😮😮😮 . To tell people who have worked hard on their music 🎵🎶 that it's not good enough for them when they were playing songs like " I want to hold your hand". I saw her standing there . No Milk today Mrs Brown You Have a Lovely Daughter. Which was in my mind was just as soft as as anything what the Easybeats was writing. In my opinion the Easybeats was better than that because they didn't give into the mass of the industry 😂😂😂❤ . And tried to write different types of music 🎵🎶 that would have intertained every body with new music 😂😂😂😂
@OldiesMomma
@OldiesMomma 10 ай бұрын
And I think that the Easybeats should have been called "Stevie wright and the Easybeats 😂😂😂 Because if it wasn't for him being their front man and doing his back flips on the stage and doing his dance moves that got all the girls chasing after them . They would have been another rock band performing music 😢 , with just 3 guitar player's and a drummer just like everyone else trying to break into a very corrupted industry.😮. That didn't let you in unless you confirmed to what they wanted 😢😢😢. So the USA and Canada missed out on the best music 🎵🎵🎶 that AUSTRALIA had to offer the rest of the world 😢😢😢😢

Thank you so much for sharing this video! I grew up with The Easybeats music, and later Stevie's music and met him when he was attending re-hab in Katoomba. He and friends of his used to come into a restaurant/café I was working in at the time - "Aroneys" some 31 odd years ago now. I often had chats with him. He was such a charismatic, talented and gifted, beautiful soul. The last time I saw him he needed some money to catch a train and so I gave him what I had on me at the time. Next I heard he had been charged with robbery. I have often wondered how he was getting on over the years and if in fact he was still alive. Very saddened by his story and also the deterioration in his health but happy to see he is still alive and people who love him are surrounding him, caring about him and supporting him. Bless ya Stevie - you were and are one of a kind and definitely not one who is easily forgotten. x

What happened to him was so sad , he was a legend of Aussie rock , a tragic story of Stevie Wright that had the opportunity to go either way, so much talent , what went wrong

drugs and a irresponsbile attitude is what went wrong.. he hurt a lot of people as well as himself, wasted so many opportunities.. He only has/had himself to blame really.. so many people tried to help and he abused it all..

Maybe that's tire. But what would have happened to him if he had not been given the electronic shock treatment's that fried his brain and the cocktail of drugs that put him in a coma for two years and caused him to suffer from brain damage. Would he have made the same choices that he did. You can not blame him for every thing he did. I say that it was the doctors at the Chelmsford private hospital that are responsible for the bad choices that he made. Then there was the westmont rehabilitation center where he went to get help for his drug addict. That did not work either. 😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤

Only God knows what happened to him there. Imagine having to jump out of a window to get away from the people that you went for help. Broke his ankle or foot and got staff infection . Unless you have been though it you will never know what he went through. He was never the same after after that. But at least he tried to get help for his drug addiction. None of the doctors that he went to for help gave a damn about him or any of the other people's lives they were supposed to help. Why did they get away with it. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Don't forget that he was only human. And that he made a few mistakes in his life. But don't we all. 😢😢

Just four days after he was released from the westmont rehabilitation center where they supposedly cured him of his addition to the drugs he was arested for trying to break into a house and for using the heroin that they supposedly cured him of. Does not say much about the rehabilitation centers that he went to doesn't.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I Feel sad for him. But don't judge him Because he was only human. And made some mistakes in his life. But don't we all at times. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢😢😢😢😢

Man have I been educated watching this stunning vid. Prior to seeing this I thought original AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott was the man. Er...so wrong on that one now. Stevie Wright & The Easybeats is the story of Romeo & Juliet and probably every other play written by William Shakespeare...on acid and probably every other of the strongest drugs on the planet, and the strongest alcohol. Stevie Wright is Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde X 10...He was a genius. And in genius there is usually a very thin line between sanity and insanity. Wright has definitely been there and done that more than most of the hardest and toughest 'been-there-done-that-ers on this planet. He makes The Rolling Stones Keith Richards look like a choirboy. Now that is saying something. I have always believed AC/DC are one of the hardest, toughest, and strongest working ethic bands in the history of rock music. Yep sir, up there with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Who, The Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, and Motorhead. However...now that I am schooling myself up on Stevie Wright & The Easybeats, I am wondering if I need to adjust my lineup. Would it be fair and reasonable to suggest Stevie Wright was under rated? I reckon a famous Australian movie producer needs to research a movie on Stevie Wright & The Easybeats AND Molly Meldrum. I'd be the first to buy a ticket to the premier...apart from Scott Mcrae.

Stevie wright was there before Bon Scott. Stevie wright showed the other front men how to entertain the people. With out Stevie wright there would be no AC DC or bon Scott. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Yes, I thought the same at that time, he would be the perfect fit, as TheEasyBeats was the older brother of AC/DC, but friends who knew Stevie said he was considered somewhat 'unreliable', which I took to mean his problems with drug addiction.
