Just an update, you can still get the title. I talked to Commander War Razer and I can still get the title box and select one. These are limited to 1 per account, so maybe they decided to just leave it in since you can only get 1.

One thing to note is that Alliances maybe aren't a thing anymore, I remember reading in a post that they were focusing solely on World Restructuring and leaving Alliances as an extra, because when you think about it, Alliances are basically the guild system but bigger, and the most important part was to get rid of the server structure and make it dynamic, which is the World Restructuring part. I'm 90% I read this, 10% possibility of being a dream.

for WvW alliances so far I've seen guilds just make a new WvW-oriented guild and invite players from their alliances into it then rep their own guild. Since you can be in 5 guilds at once, it shouldn't be much of an issue unless you really wanted all 5 slots for farming nodes

Yes, they already said they were dropping Alliances as it was an over complicated guild system. That's why they gave the new extra guild slot, so you can use that new slot as your new wvw guild/alliance substitute.

I believe the title will always be available for purchase for accounts that are older than the new wvw update. You don't have to rush to get it, for people who haven't logged on in a while.

You might be right. I was assuming this'd go away, as well as quite a few community members. But in their Looking Back and Forward post they do not mention a deadline.

Thank you so much! I've been having fun with CapCut recently, actually. Used ShotCut before, but the time I need to spend on edits is 4x as long as with my current setup. I did install DaVinci to start tinkering, 1 year ago it was a bit too overwhelming.

gonna miss the old WvW system, but it definitely has needed an overhaul for awhile. People hate Maguuma (arguably for good reason), they're regularly BM despite almost always having numbers, ungodly amounts of roamers and able to field 2 full zergs on top of it, some weeks were just a mess. As a returning player after a 4 year break, it made me happy to see people still hate Mag to this day 😂

I figured they must have quite the reputation if it gets to forums and reddit so often. Granted that everything needs to run smoothly, I do think it'll be a boon for the longevity of the game mode as well.

Unless ANet makes an exception, it'll be there for good. They've (almost) never deleted these kinds of items.

I’ve already made my choice. Although I’m no longer part of BG, and certainly didn’t feel any pride when I left, there was a time when one could confidently shout #BG4EVER or #BEASTGATE in the map chat. Moreover, it was the server where I dedicated most of my time, so… 🤷‍♂

We've been going through betas for almost 3 years now, so I would (want to) assume the "base" system is solid. But yeah, always-on beta isn't the greatest confidence instiller.

the only thing i suffered from on my server is commanders who locked their squads behind joining discord, i dont wanna talk to you man i just wanna play the game. i doubt this change will change that tho

Yeah, servers disappearing might not solve that one. Guess it'll be up to luck with what guilds/commanders you get paired with.

majority of time you dont have to speak anything , usually its commander talk and others just listen

@@tomia89 that actually sounds much worse to me. I've got nicer voice calls to join where I can chat with my friends, instead of listening to one guy giving commands, that I could just as easily read in map chat. A few weeks ago I was on a map where the commander had someone typing all his commands for the people not on discord, and it worked out amazingly well. I wish this was common practice. I am actually worried that people will now lock wvw guild membership behind discord activity. But then again I am not even sure I want to join a wvw guild, because I only play wvw very sporadically. For now I'll just wait and see how the world reconstruction handles solo players. Maybe I am lucky and can continue to enjoy wvw the way I do now.

Isn't that a bit counter productive? You can't kick people from the map, so wouldn't it make more sense to at least have players join a squad if they don't want to/ can't be on discord? I've only recently returned to the game after a very long break and haven't quite figured out squads yet.

@@melinnamba if you want to win fights you need good commanding, when there is 50+ people on squad you want to HEAR what he is saying and what to do when as TEAM to combo on right time, you dont want 10 people yelling or talking shit in midddle of fights, i have seen both and what performs better. Ofc you can just follow and go with flow but that usually ends when good commander with communication comes against you. I can see you dont have a lots of experience from www.
