i actually lost one of my best friends when i was 15. as cliche as it was, it was only due to miscommunication and misunderstandings. pretty sure that he’s already moved on from me. i’d like to believe that i’ve moved on as well, but once every blue moon i long for what could’ve been. we’ve been through so much yet everything ended too quickly. i’m happy that he found better friends and he’s happy with them. sometimes we have to let go of the ones who we hold close to our hearts because we can’t do anything about it. but, it’s for the best too.

This song hit me so hard. I can't believe how far Clairo has come musically, but also, I wasn't expecting how close to home it would hit. I was 15 when I became depressed for the first time. I got sad pretty regularly when I was a kid, you know, but this was a constant numbness where I was apathetic to everything but at the same time felt lonely and full of despair. I didn't even know I was depressed back then, I just thought that must be how you start to feel when you grow up and that that must be why adults are so unhappy. I'm 22 now and it's way better now but it's an ongoing thing. I won't get into it but the lyrics just felt so accurate that it felt cathartic, like someone else had give through the exact same thing and knew what it was like idk it was like being heard even though I know she doesn't know me. So amazing what Clairo is creating and doing with her music ❤️
