@@thouveninvijayan3073 As if you know me from anywhere. Be it the lower back or upper back, exceeding anything past beyond the natural curvatures of the spine applies immense pressure to the vertebrae and increases the risk of injury. The mention of speed does not even belong in the topic- doing it faster, if anything, decreases the time under tension but does not take away the pressure the spine disks suffered during the lift. If that's your idea of lifting correctly and your opinion, please keep it to yourself- we already have enough "fitness people" in KZfaq promoting the worst kinds of things that end up putting people in hospitals.

HEY Clarence!! Have you ever tested your max vertical jump? I really wanna know because I'm 5'2" (~ 160cm according to Google) and I love Volleyball currently I reach 265cm as max height but I never did weightlifting and somebody told me to get more explosive strength because my trainer on the team said that I can't even play volleyball, so I wanna get some inches on jump. I really would love your comment :( Much love & greetings from Chile, South America.

Train your legs but more specifically focus on your hip flexors. They literally lift the leg so you can jump. Strong hip flexors = greater vertical

No hip flexors won't improve your vertical jump. Vertical jump is force/Time x bodyweight INTO the ground. Newton's laws apply. Hip flexors don't provide any force into the ground, the flex the hip not extend. Need to work the same muscle groups as a squat, explosive triple extension focussed around the glutes hamstrings and quads. Improve your power to weight ratio through Olympic lifts. It's not just about how much you lift, but how fast you lift it.

You are funny guys! It's nice to see it's not all business with the heavy weight lifters. We should be having at least a bit of fun whatever we do (if possible).
