Generally works for a tech company or a tech consulting firm to work with customers to identity and implement IT solutions. Works closely with an account manager and potentially a project manager depending on the scope of the engagement.

Agreeing with Donika here…. They do sales of a technical product. And they have to be an engineer or highly technical person to do that specific job.

It's an engineer with sales experience, depending on their bachelor degree it's gonna be the field they're working (mostly). For example a computer science eng can work for it sales, a bioengineer can work even for medical sales, a logistics and industrial engineers can do mostly any field and tbh if you're curious and good at it it doesn't matter (sometimes) what major you took just that it is and engineering degree and that you have sales exp. Sales it's the first contact with the client, the first step into the logistics chain, that's why there's an engineer in that position, specially if the product has complicated technical specifications. It's easier for an engineer to understand it and sale it. I'm looking to get this position soon. A piece of advice I can give is while you study take a part time job in sales (for most of them you only need high school), make experience, most jobs (for a sales engineer) I have seen requiere at least 6 months of exp in sales. But I would recommend making at least a year. Then do internships in engineering as a student, make experience in the areas you like, manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance, etc. (I recommend you try the most areas you can as a student) then once you have your title, sales and engineering experience you can land a sales engineer position. I wish I did that, I have 2.5 years of exp in engineering but 0 in sales, so I'm looking to take any sales job to make experience and then apply for sales engineer position. Hope this helps! These videos are bizarre. The majority of the people who respond supposedly make six figures or over. So she just so happens to interview the 10% of working Americans. Lol. Update : there’s another guy who does this called “American Income “ and all his videos are same with people all over 100k. It’s obviously bullshit.

Ummm do you see how many yrs of experience she has (she should be making like 250k). In the other videos people that have 1-3 yrs of experience in their jobs (ones that are not teachers) and make over 100k.

I hope you did not make this comment in haste. If one thinks on it some more, they'd realize that she's been in her field for 20 plus years. At the start of her career, she definitely wasn't making that. Also teachers are required to have a master's degree by a certain time, so they have two degrees. If one wants to increase their pay scale other than through years of service, they have to get more education/credits/certification/ degrees, which includes more schooling while working for many. Then, this is a job that requires many to spend out of pocket for their classroom and students. Some will spend more than others depending on the access to resources and the district's budget. There are jobs that require less education and people reach those salary figures way before 20 plus years of service. I think people just like to dislike teachers. It saddens me. While other countries revere educators, I barely see that same respect in KZfaq comments and other forms of American media. It's not an easy job, definitely getting harder with the current generation, and I'd like to see many critics try the job for a week. I come in peace, but just passionate for the work teachers do.
