I originally wrote this lick for myself. However, I got the crazy idea to hand it out to my previous students at the beginning of our winter percussion season. The following video is from their finals performance and... it's not too shabby. These guys and gals, not just the snare line, worked extremely hard this past year and I had a blast working with them. This one is for you all :)!
About the lick... this one is a little easier than my other ones (hopefully more people learn it *fingers crossed*). It plays on the idea of displacement. I often state a motive and repeat it starting on a different partial. The changing of syncopation helps give it a nice flow.

Hey Sean did you age out if you did I will make sure to cry a tear for you. You gave alot of insperation for young drummers like myself and your hard work pushed us to be as good as you. Let me talk about myself for a little if you don't mind. I started drumming in October of last year and I was horrible but I keeped on pushing myself now I am my highschool drumline!

Do you have any tips on improving hand speed for left hand traditional? Any specific warmups or how the hand should be shaped? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
