What an amazing way to close out to an awesome career with the Blue Devils. You are an incredible performer and it was SO much fun to watch you perform on a day to day basis for the past three years. You are also the example of what a Blue Devil is all about. I know being a section leader brings a whole new level of expectation and isn't always the most enjoyable. Truly, you are not only the anchor of the line, but the entire drum corps. And that can bring a lot of added pressure. Your lines seemed to want to perform and really follow your example of hard work and excellence. Congratulations and well done. 💙

@justinstaska14916 жыл бұрын
The first sticks they were using were practice sticks with rubber tips. Supposedly, they used them in the intro to give the snares more of an old school sound, then they switched to regular sticks.

Such an easy book for such a professional line, do you know why that was?
@ghst_littlfry12974 жыл бұрын
I think its because the book was also centered around brass and front onsomble so it might have a little to do with it becase if they changed it too make it more complex it might have made it sound different that and the fact that they make several changes throught the season.but bassically its more based on how it would sound all together rather than complexity although they do make up for it with all that movment.

@zoehuffman7994 жыл бұрын
The0nlyAngelica I would recommend looking up tutorial videos on KZfaq and practice. Yes the beginning of the season marching band instructor(s) teach you some basics but background knowledge is always a very good thing to have :). Also, unless you already have the materials, I would recommend getting sticks and a practice pad. If you can’t get these things right now it’s ok because the magical thing about percussion is that u can just practice by hitting your hands on ur leg or a pillow. Also on KZfaq there are many good sources and instructors who teach how to read music that have helped me a ton in the past :)
@the0nlyangelica9554 жыл бұрын
Zoe Huffman legit thank you so much! I’ve been looking at these types of vids looking for someone to respond with something actually helpful , thanks so much I’m ordering a practice pad and sticks and have been doing some follow alongs and the R L thingys and warmups and stuff. Thanks so much omg you don’t know how happy I am rn tbh I rlly appreciate it ;D🖤🖤

Why does the entire flight of the bumblebee have absolutely no percussion in it besides some quads? I could hear so much being done with that..
@aaaqui__97616 жыл бұрын
chase2208 you're right, the front ensemble isnt percussion and doesn't play incredibly fast and challenging runs leveling the difficulty of the hornline because cleaning five marimbas on those runs isn't hard or anything.

I’m not going to be salty person or anything but you need to give props to front ensemble that put in so much work. Also watch the xylophone/glockenspiel cam he plays fast.
@samglover49232 жыл бұрын
Because, hear me out, the whole show isn’t about drums. While the drums may not be playing anything, the brass and front ensemble are playing batshit crazy parts. It’s their moment, there’s no reason to try to take attention from it with drum parts. Drum parts do not make every section better, especially when other instruments are having their moment
