I love how asking someone to be your parabatai is just as emotional and intense as proposing marriage, it's so beautiful

I know in the books simon is Clary's parabatai but I like the idea of Isabelle being her parabatai as well.

No matter how many times I watch this, I will never get over the fact that Clary and Izzy were about to become parabatai.

While I adore the books, I was always sad we never got to see more of a relationship blossom between Clary and Izzy, but this show gave us that and so much more. It has been incredible watching the two of them become so close, and heartbreaking that we won't ever get to see them become parabatai...

Now I need a season four to see this happen more than ever

Clary deserved to have Izzy as her parabatai, and enjoy the wedding and party of Magnus and Alec, and laugh and have fun with Simon, and live happy with Jace forever.....she lost her mother, her father never loved her, she had to kill her brother, all to save the world, she deseved a happy ending....but the angels had to ruin that

All right. It’s official. I’m going to start a petition to get a season 4 and 5 of Shadowhunters. I think it’s clear we all need more of them. They robbed us and them of the chance to see them become Parabatai, to see more of Izzy and Simon, to see more of Malec. It was shown at the very end of the series that the angels had started forgiving Clary (or they realised that they overreacted just a tad and saw that most of the things Clary did was for the good of the humanity and people...) because she began remembering. So people, who’s with me?

Not gonna lie, Simon is Clary’s parabatai. But I would of loved to see how the bond between her and Izzy would of gone. They are like sisters in a way and a Parabatai is like a bond so much more than love itself. Hell loosing one could make a ShadowHunter go insane and depressed. Valentine for example, he was power hungry for dominated the world of Shadows and The Mundane world. But I have no doubt that him betraying Luke and feeling that bond rip, made valentine unhinge completely. The Show has so much potential if only they were consistent and patient with everything, they pulled a DC. They wanted to do what DC wanted to do, tell a story as quickly as possible to get to the exiting parts quick. Instead of taking their time and making those parts that weren’t worth remembering, memorable. It’s a shame really, in the series finale Jace finds clary to reintroduce her to the world of shadows without Valentine being around. It’s up to us to see and imagine how clary and Izzy would of been as parabatai.

I have a question. If they did become parabatai before clary forgot of the shadow world, would it still count? Or would Izzie be considered not to have a parabatai any longer ?

Im super bummed that we dont get to see this parabatai ceremony happen.

I LOVE Clary and Izzy’s friendship in the show. It’s one of the very few things about the books that I wish had been explored more. However, as much as I love their relationship, I could never accept Izzy as Clary’s parabatai. That honour is Simon’s and Simon’s alone. His storyline in the books was beautifully written and it deserved its spotlight in the show. I’ll never forgive Netflix for ending Shadowhunters before the story had reached its natural conclusion. When they took on the show after Freeform cancelled it, they had a duty of care over the story and they failed in that duty when they rushed through the last arc and gave half of Simon’s storyline to Clary for absolutely no reason.

This scene was amazing and then at the end ruined because of the stupid Angels punishment to Clary Her and Izzy could have been Parabatai (yes I know I’m the books Simon is her Parabatai but I just love the concept that Clary and Izzy are parabatai’s more :D)

Above the fact in the books it is clary and simon that become parabatai, is that simon and clary being paratai actually makes no sense. Even without the parabatai bond simon-clary have this inseparable and strong bond with unconditional love and loyalty towards each other as childhood friends which makes them more ideal as parabatai, and they never showed anything with the izzy and clary bonding that made me see them as suited to be parabatai. It's like the writers just decided that they will do the complete opposite in the show from the books, like how instead of max it's jocelyn that dies, jace making out with clary in the dark alley is then shown between him and maia, instead of jace it is clary who is binded to jonathan, and how instead of jace it is izzy who becomes consumed with heavenly fire, and now instead of simon they are going to make izzy his parabatai, and of course how instead of simon it is clary who loses her memory of the shadow and downworld. I didn't really care and neither did I oppose those changes, but this one I strongly disagree with. It was really thrown in there. Anyways, besides that, I really adore clary and izzy's friendship and actually wish they had properly shown their friendship in the show.
