Great summary😂 but would like to say that their main job isn’t really to keep the downworlders in check, it’s to hunt demons and therefore protect mundanes. Though they sometimes do like to control the downworlders under the pretence of protecting mundanes so yeah

100% agreed I loved the books personally I preferred The infernal devices books over the mortal instruments ones but that’s just because. Will Herondale. Enough said XD

@@Lucy-eg3tj Will is everyone's fictional husband lol x My favourite series is probably the Dark Artificies tbh (just so many great and complex characters + they spend quite a bit of time in the seelie/unseelie courts which I find so interesting andddd the forbidden love of Julian and Emma is just epic) but i hate choosing a favourite cuz I always change my mind

Nah the show improved a lot from the books.

I personally liked the show way more than the book, it made the characters actually likeable, in the books everyone was fucking insufferable except Magnus and some minor characters. Even though the characters have the same/similar flaws and developments, the show makes the ones that annoyed me more bearable/understandable.(like Alec being unreasonably jealousand way out of line as soon as Malec got together, in the show Alec was still being normal about it insteadof a massive jerk who blew up at Magnus over nothing) Though tbh in the book it didn't feel like anyone was changing at all, I hated so much, the only thing that kept me reading was the Malec Storyline bc the resurrection plot pissed me off(though to be fair, that's bc I was *really* hoping for some political drama about how the downworld would be integrated into shadowhunter society after centuries, if not millennia of oppression (the way it was written about really bothered me, it was such a superficial understanding of oppression and also all the shadowhunters were still doing racist shit at that point) Sorry for this rant, like, obviously it's fine if like the books but I had to stop reading right around the time Sebastian got resurrected and Alec went to see Camille (literally closed the book as soon as I realised what was happening and did not open it ever again bc the one thing I liked about the series was ruined too and I didn't care if it got fixed, I was just tired of everyone's bs)
