FILM DESCRIPTION:
Perseus (Harry Hamlin), son of the Greek god Zeus (Laurence Olivier), grows up on a deserted island. His destiny is to marry Princess Andromeda (Judi Bowker), who will someday rule the city of Joppa. But as long as the satyr Calibos (Neil McCarthy) -- who uses a giant vulture to kidnap Andromeda's soul every night -- is alive, no one can marry her. Perseus travels to Joppa, where he must defeat Calibos and other mythological monsters to rescue Andromeda.

Calibos is my favorite character. I wish Harryhausen would have given him a sword to fight Perseus one on one. Then again the film showed several times that he’s a coward who doesn’t fight fair 😂

Calibos was a tough opponent to take on. Attacking someone from behind is one the right ways to fight someone. A coward is one of the worst derogatory insults ever.

I live in Texas where the regular versions occasionally appear. One of them crawled up my pantleg and stung me on the side of my knee yesterday. It was incredibly painful but this is an almost perfect depiction of how the story I’m telling people has evolved :)

The guy that was killed by the scorpion, he probably would have lived if not for Calibos rendering him helpless and those scorpions move slow.. Calibos is evil but not a tough adversary at all and is easily defeated in combat and his attacks are often sneaky and cowardly. The Gods did right by punishing him for his evil and cowardly deeds.

Calibos is a terrible fighter. Everything he does is either from behind or by surprise or when the target is fighting someone else. Face to face, Calibos is zero.

If Thallo had a dagger at his belt or his boot, he actually could have killed Calibos when Calibos pulled him closer. Calibos' hand fork is a pretty inferior weapon face to face.

Fighting someone face to face is one of the worst ways to fight someone. Attacking someone from behind, by surprise, or when the target is fighting someone else is one of the best ways to fight someone or take them out & it's a very fair fight. Calling anyone a coward is one of the worst derogatory insults ever & anybody who calls or labels anyone else a coward should be named and shamed & it's no wonder we have climate change because the derogatory term coward greatly contributes to climate change. Everyone should be banned from using that derogatory term coward.
