4:32 Yeah you're 100% correct there. Between Alexandra Palace Station and the tunnel, there's a Neutral section (Where the Train temporarily looses power on the overhead lines). That's when the Driver shuts off the power, as the Driver is recommended to or passengers will feel a sudden jolt otherwise. There's multiple Neutral sections across every AC line in the UK. Train Sim Classic is probably the best Sim to simulate Neutral Sections tbh.

You must have felt how much worse the ride quality was compared to the 365 - I saw the train visibly shaking on multiple occasions but the 365 managed to stay still

On one hand, i agree the 365s were more still. But the camera means nothing in my video here., I wasn't really trying to hold it perfectly still. They were actually pretty decent when I rode them. They didn't throw me around either. I was honestly suprised . But a little bounce isn't gonna ruin my journey personally. It was very controlled. It Makes it a little fun to venture on as long as it doesent get too extreme. I think the 387/2s likely have it worse. Or the tracks around the Brighton mainline etc is probably worse. Sometimes it's track quality. In the case of this mainline it was actually pretty decent.

Also this video really made me love the electrostar sounds again. Not tha ii ever stopped liking them lmao. But these sounded great, they sounded fast and were smooth to listen to. A friend of mine made the comparison, he said these are like the 317s/319s of the modern age of trains since they are alot louder than most modern electric trains. Not too loud, but satisfying to listen to. I'm not a fan of this silent generation of EMUs . 700s and oooof aventras. Like I get not wanting it to be too loud. But some nice audiable sound is still nice. Other countries like Germany have some nice EMU sounds. Even modern ones. Its pretty sick. I guess 745s and 331s are the only units that make nice sounds of modern units too

@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524Try a GWR unit, I guarantee you'll feel it XD maybe something is wrong with GWR 387s

@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 Besides, there's a reason why GN passengers rant about how poorly the 387s ride... the 365s were much, much smoother, that's a fact - and apparently even 317s and 321s rode a little better at speed. I'd say the biggest issue, at least with GWR 387s and 377s, is the sudden, violent sideways movement that can throw you into a seat if you're standing - and it happens at really unpredictable times so there's no way you can brace yourself. Never happened on the 365. Even a 700 only jitters up and down a little. But maybe GWR 387s are just poorly looked after, I mean GN did put 1st class on theirs. That means they've invested BIG $$$$$$$ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣so they gotta take care of 'em more.🤣

​@Solomon_C I dont know tbh. I think some are bumpy and some aren't. These ones are alright tbh I have to say. The IETs are apparently worse than the GWR 387s. And remember I went on one haha. I'm the first to upload them going over 100mph with a speedo it would seem. They were okay when i rode them. I think 377/4s are likely the most jittery. And class 317s werent actually that bad. They were actually pretty smooth I'll admit. Sometimes I think heavier body shells make it harder to keep the train still. Like 387s and 377s for example. Whereas 317s were alot lighter and the motor coach bogie was hefty. However my example falls flat when we consider how bumpy Greater anglia 321s were. I have a theory it may be to do with the air bag pressure. I think over time they lose air and have to be re pumped or something. Either that or they lose their elasticity and become weak? I guess that's why after maintenance some trains seem better for a bit. Who actually knows. 387s are still bouncy castles , but I think these /1s were alright. Not perfect , but I'd say 6 to 7/10 for suspension
