I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Esper Stoneblade, a classic Legacy midrange deck from Patreon subscriber First Revenge. One of the archetypes that defined Legacy's greatest period of public attention and growth, this midrange deck is built around value creatures Stoneforge Mystic, Snapcaster Mage, and now Orcish Bowmasters to nickle and dime your way through many long, grindy games. Hey! I'm the creator of the decklist (Inktwolery on MODO), and I thought I'd share some insights about the list and league. In terms of card choices, the problem with Caustic Bronco (and many such midrange threats) is that it isn't blue. This list exactly meets the 20 blue card threshold for Force and is playing Lorien in a land slot to accomplish this in addition to the three Snapcasters. Also, I only have access to the three dual lands this list plays in paper because I'm a student, but I would probably play a second Tundra if I could to avoid Cryptic Coat or Wasteland in some midgames locking me out of untapped white. I must thank First Revenge for using their deck donation for my list. It is super exciting seeing the deck featured and played well! I think Esper has a lot more potential in the format than it has been given credit for, but it is certainly prone to more than a few brain-melters - a significant downside. I think it's partially due to this channel that I have gotten more into Legacy. I've been slowly acquiring duals for years now and in the last year I've had enough to play in person. Had so much fun and top 8d some legacy tournaments that now I bought into delver on MTGO. Love Legacy, Magic, and Bosh!

Maybe at 11:00 it makes sense to take force to stop the bloodmoon? We know they have 5 lands to play around spell pierce. Would have ignored it if any of the lands got basic plains though.

Honestly, bronco and DRC seem to be a bit of a value engine if you aren't wanting to attack with DRC. A build your own calibrated blast deck. Love the content!

1:45:55 I think they would've been dead even without the Bowmasters, as you could've just moved your Batterskull to your unblockable face-down creature. It has Ward 2, so your opponent wouldn't be able to interact with it anyway.

Round 2 @45:25 I think you had a slim out in redeploying Cryptic Coat, hitting Snapcaster mage and casting Swords to Plowshares from the graveyard. Slim pickings, but still.

That doesn’t work. Turning a Cloaked Snapcaster face up won’t give you it’s ETB trigger because it had already entered the battlefield as a face down creature

at 16:45 shouldn't you kaldra the army first, then if they do remove it you generate 2 bodies with bowmaster. instead its like you killed your own 1/1 by playing bowmaster first

I was trying to find the untapped land right away to kill their bowmaster with mine. If I have to pass the turn there anyway, like keeping Lorien, having the raw land count next turn matters less because I can bowmaster with what i have.

taking the swords over the blood moon match 1 game two was terrible even without the hindsight. you were stone cold and you easily could have worked through the swords with the two stoneforges in your hand. i was irrationally pissed off that you didnt take the blood moon when you had the chance lol
