You were quite lucky with that frame removal as everything just unscrewed. The last one I did (1992 Cooper) fought me all the way and I had to cut/drill all the mountings off. Fortunately I was fitting a new shell and sub-frames so attacking it with power tools didn't really matter. I prefer to remove the lid when working in the boot as I find leaning over is rather uncomfortable with my dodgy back. I look forward to the rest of this video series.

Yes we were very lucky, but have certainly been less lucky in the past with having to resort to drilling out broken fixings etc. it appears no two are the same 👍👍

You need more subscribers. You deserve more subscribers. A quick question if I may? I want to buy a socket set that covers general car maintenance, what size should I buy? 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 inch? Thank you.

Yes I do !! And being new to this world I have no idea how 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ However in answer to your question, I find 3/8 covers off most eventuality's. A rail of shallow and deep and a good ratchet / extension set. Or look at a general services from the likes of Halfords etc. some can be great value and very neatly packaged.

@@thomasclassicandmodern Just keep making great content. It really is as simple as that. You will find people love to be shown how to do something. Like when you removed the rear subframe, you showed the removal practically bolt for bolt, cutting out any unnecessary footage not relevant to the job in hand. And I love the fact you did it with the car on the ground. Most of us don't have a ramp. I also loved the tip with the beam going across both axle stands. I would never have thought of that, or had the bottle to at least try it. I certainly will now when working under a car. Little details like this will swell the subscribers have no doubts.
