I sure miss seeing Elliott on the track. My favorite NASCAR driver ever. I met him at a fan event at Dale Jarrett’s in Hickory - there were signs up - 1 autograph only - I told him I had a car and a shirt - he said “I’ll sign anything you got” and laughed we took a bunch of pictures with him. Happy he is enjoying life! Thanks Kenny! ❤️ You too!!

To be fair NASCAR has a very old fan base in comparison to other sports. NASCAR has to find a way to draw a new generation of fans to keep the sport going.

I really enjoy Elliot, but YOU are absolutely right. 95% of men, can’t afford to quit working, to spend all their time being around and raising their kids. It’s a rare luxury.I still applaud him for doing it.

Thats what breaks my heart, Nascar is going away from what the actual fans want, but instead doing what they think is best, which is hurting nascar more than helping. I voted for Elliot. Nascar is going the same route as F1, gunning towards the rich and money and throwing away the real fan base that help build up racing. Im blessed to grow up with racing from 70s. Drivers actually appreciated fans. Celebrities that dont even watch or know about nascar are honored at a race just to promote them is ridiculous.

It would be a dream come true to see Elliott come out of retirement to run one SRX race...... he truly is an amazing person as well as a criminally underrated driver, I will always remember him as the guy that drove the OG M&M's car in the no. 38... Robert Yates (Rest In Peace), when he teamed up Elliot with Dale Jarrett, talk about a match made in heaven!

I think you’re referring to Pocono however your statement is pretty vague! I remember that m&m’s car on its lid more than once at Talladega. There was another one at Michigan that was real bad. I firmly believe there are a large number of drivers who are alive today directly because of Dale Earnhardt’s death. It’s had me mulling over something; I’d like to hear anyone else’s thoughts. I’ve been asking myself if I died tomorrow and as a direct result of things that happened because of my death, a great number of people who would have otherwise died, are able to live, would I agree to leave this realm tomorrow 😮🤔

Thank You Kenny for doing this. We never know what a drivers life is like. I have watched racing since the old track in Myrtle Beach 1955 - 1956 every Saturday night. Now I rarely watch NASCAR races because of what they have done to the sport. (NEGATIVE) They have cost themselves over 2/3's of their old spectators from day one the people that made them. They have done it to them selves

The stories and conversations are some of the best content. When I raced go karts we used to call it bench racing. Raced karts one time from Texas at gateway exit4 pavement track. Any many thanks for these great stories. Being from Texas,Corn flakes Terry Labonte was always my guy. Remember when they raced at Texas World? That’s going back a day or two. At least they haven’t shut down Devils bowl yet. Keep the great podcasts coming keeping me company in the 18 wheeler. Still miss NASCAR Performance on speed. Godspeed

Kenny & Elliott thanks for this. Fans never think of the behind the scenes. I never did until my 10 year old cousin just started running the Maxxis series. He’s from IA and think he’s the only one that heads south and races in his blue jeans and thanks his pig sponsor 😂 He goes to FL and all over not knowing if he’ll make the feature. I remember Elliott’s sleeping in the car for more time with kids ❤️ That Preece thing had Elliott fans up in arms and mad at Preece forever. Oh, one last thing…Elliott & Hermie had great fan club barn parties & Blake sometimes showed.

Elliott was a great driver with a lot of talent. He won a few restricter plate qualifying poles. I remember when he won the pole at Talladega a few times. I watched a video clip of the 2003 NASCAR Qualifying Session at Talladega(Fall) and Elliott Sadler drove the M&M’s Car and he won the pole. That Qualifying Session had a surprising list of drivers that were knocked out of the field based on provisional points like Mike Bliss, Kevin Lepage, Kyle Petty, Steve Park, Todd Bodine, and another guy. He also won the pole for the Talladega Qualifying Sessions a couple of times after in 05 and I think he won in 06. Elliott and Hermie were both good drivers and I remember Hermie driving the #02 Car. Elliott did a great job driving the #19 Car. Great driver and I will never forget him.

Much respect to be with family, outside looking in I think most drivers leave and retire is the pressure that they want the young guys in the sport. Drivers are being pushed out. Back in the day drivers didn’t get those big contracts you had to race. Most of the young drivers know nothing about cars just how to drive.

Another great show Kenny! IMO they need to "dirty them up" a little from an aero perspective so the lead car has an aerodynamic disadvantage. Remember how exciting the new car was for the first 5 or 6 races? Once the engineers start tweaking the cars they all become aero sensitive. Like Joey Logano said, every 2 years there should be a big rule change to improve the competition.

Glad to see Elliott and yourself figure it out that family is your happiness. Kenny maybe having a nascar wife on to explain how difficult it was with the ups and downs of that lifestyle.
