Elliott Sadler to a Xfinity championship is like Mark Martin to a Cup Series championship

Gotta appreciate how he always took blame and rarely placed it, yet was always graceful in his defeats

Man, it sucks Sadler couldn't get a championship. Should have had 3 or 4 in XFINITY for sure. Should be considered an all-time great in the Series but the garbage format stopped that from happening

Yes. Elliott went to two teams in Cup that were sinking. Yates really fell off the map after 2004 his best season. They started helping Roush in engines which did Elliot no favors. Evernham was not much better. These years really affected Elliott's confidence. He fared much better in the XFINITY series when he returned.

Loved Sadler, wish he could of got him one, but also thought the same about Mark Martin... My life hasn't went the way I wanted it to either, but we all had the opportunity at one point, and the chips just don't always fall your way, but he had a amazing career, and drove for many great owners

Sometimes I wish Elliott Sadler could have driven the 3 car at RCR and be teammates with Jeff Burton. That was always a place I thought he would go.

As much as I wished Sadler won the 2017 championship, Preece did nothing wrong. He has every right to race for his position. If he was a lap down it would be a different story but he was racing Sadler for position. You also have to consider Preece was part-time at the time and essentially racing for his career. Just drives me crazy how everyone always gets mad at Preece when he did nothing wrong

I was a Sadler fan from his days in the 21 Wood Bros car. My first favorite driver when I started watching. I laid on the floor for a half hour after that Homestead Xfinity race....same as the 2009 Daytona 500 finish.

I feel like you could make a similar vid on Justin Allgaier. He's been in the battle for the championship in almost every single year he's raced for JRM, but he would always lose it due to his mistakes, or there was always someone better than him.

Maybe he just wasn't that good... He's a likable guy. He's not the worst driver. He's just not that good. It seems like NASCAR fans fall in love with likable bums. Then because they like a bum who is fairly competitive, that driver is now somehow good. Michael Waltrip destroyed race cars for 15 years before DEI. He wins 4 restrictor plate races (1 by rain). Then all of a sudden fans now look back at him like he was a decent driver. Even through the DEI years, he kept destroying cars. I hoped Sadler won an Xfinity title because he was typically in a Chevrolet and I thought he was likable. If you look at his Cup career though, he was buttcheeks. I understand that a lot of what happened to cost him titles was out of his control. But, his lack of killer instinct behind the wheel cost him more.

i dont think he was a cup series star but he should’ve easily been a multi xfinity champion

Say what you want about Elliot Sadler but he was the guy to beat! An experienced cup winner is great to have in a lower division. Those other guys had to go up against a grown up pro to win!
