The 2 stroke sounds so much better. I love engines but after living in a sub division where everybody hires a landscaper and having to listen to weed wackers etc from 7AM to 7PM every day I have an appreciation for electric motors.

Haha, ya, I see a lot of good benefits of electric also. I have been thinking for a while to get a jet with electric motor, they sound really cool.

Looks awesome!! How much oil are you getting out of the prop nut area?
@JamesRCPlaneTech Жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry Im not sure what it is you are asking. Maybe you can clarify what your question is please. Im general, ya these glow engines get oily, especially if they are running on the rich side. You do get a film of oil on the engine, mount, firewall, and plane. Always have to clean it up after a flight.

Isn't that a barnstormer? I started my flying with one of those!
@JamesRCPlaneTech Жыл бұрын
Yep, this is the barn stormer 25S. I also flew these a lot back in the 80s. You can still find them on ebay sometimes. Thats where this kit came from. I did a build log of this on my channel as well, its in the playlists if interested. It a fun little plane, almost flys itself as you know.

How do u get it to idle so low?
@JamesRCPlaneTech3 ай бұрын
Adjust the throttle to the best position that will allow it to idel low without stalling. Have to experiment. This engine does not have a low speed needle on the carb, but with a little experimenting you should be able to set it low. It also helps that the engine is broken in. New engines do not idle well at low rpms and require higher idling speeds to stay running. But after the engine is broken in, the idle can be lowered and run smoothly.

@@JamesRCPlaneTech I think mine may be low time. It not really able to idle low. I'm also new to glow engine.
@JamesRCPlaneTech3 ай бұрын
If you can get it low enough to where it wont roll away while idling and still run, thats about all you need. So over time it will break in and you’ll be able to tinker with it. Keep the manual and if you don’t have it, probably could download it on the internet, but always rely on the manual first. You can see lots of ideas and opinions from people on the internet, some good, some bad. None of us are experts. But the manuals are solid. Awesome that you are running with glow engines, they are fun. Thanks
