I’m 67and don’t ever wear shorts. I find myself wearing lightweight joggers and ankle length casual pants for spring and summertime. They are amazing and tops that are worn with shorts are perfect with these.

I'm 52 and don't ever ever wear shorts...personally i can't stand them. But I realise it's everyone's personal choice but they are not for me. Prefer the summery dresses

Great tips, ladies! A small point of clarification, if you don't mind. The striped top you refer to as Nantucket, is actually French. Other countries have copied it. Originally designed for the French navy, it is called La Marinere, or a Breton top (from Brittany, France). So while people in Nantucket may have adopted this French style, please let's give credit where it is due!

Great selections. I haven't found the perfect white dress yet. For me I prefer a white or navy blazer and not too oversize and I like crop length. Time to get my white jeans out of storage.

These are all great suggestions. Thank you. I’m going to add white denim skirt. It’s a little dressier than shorts, but cooler than jeans on a hot day. They can be dressed up or down. Have a nice weekend ladies.

I agree - but. . . I’m pear shaped and really look better with a dark color on the bottom. It’s an eternal search to find the correct fit - I substitute navy blue bottoms for white. Most of what you suggest works with navy although I’ll add a navy top for a monochromatic look. You suggested getting a new white top each year - white (as well as black or navy) are often available at the end of season sales. Whereas “fashion colors” sell out faster.

I’m pear shaped too and did the same with darker colours on the bottom for years until I became a little more adventurous. I will wear a coloumn of colour eg white jeans and Tshirt with a blue linen jacket which creates a more slender silhouette and the colours compliment me. It’s worth getting out of our comfort zone and trying new things. We are more aware of our ‘faults’ than others are.

you can wear white jeans if you choose bootcut or flared jeans to balance your pear shape, and team them with a well cut blazer to give you a sharper shoulder line.

Yes, if the collar can be buttoned, then its a button down, if the collar doesn't have buttons, its a button up
