Her cover of John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” might slip through the blockers. IDK She’s still produced the audio, especially the background vocals, but she uses more of her airy voice.

She is a beautiful singer and, as usual, you did a masterful job of breaking it down and explaining it to us. However, I had a hard time with the lyrics. “I would give my life for you” 😢 The older I get the more I want to hold the singer and tell them to kick the person who is hurting them like this to the curb. She deserves so so much better. I know this probably sounds crazy but songs like this make me so sad.

omg i've been soooooooooooooo excited to hear your analysis of this. as soon as i heard it i was like "i cannot wait to hear what sir hairless has to say" faouzia's variation of für elise is sooooo intriguing. hearing a new version of an absolute classic is like seeing an old friend after a long while, where they've changed but are still familiar in their essence.

Hello! I stumbled upon a rather exciting development regarding Faouzia and am spreading the news to Faouzia fans that I have come to recognize in the comments of Faouzia reactions. Faouzia is competing in the Chinese Singer 2024 competition and you can already watch her episode 1 performance of "Crazy" (by Gnarls Barkley) if you search 'Faouzia Crazy Onetake' -- it's on the MangoTV KZfaq channel. I was a classically trained musician in a past life. I heard this song for the first time last night and my reaction was "holy shit". This song is so cleverly written and her vocals are beyond exquisite.

Love it!! Great reaction!! I’m pretty sure this is a straight homage to Beethoven since she was classically trained in piano and violin. So, one that can knock some socks off is Elon. You can find it on its own, or better, after the credits of her concert at the Burton Cummings Centre during Covid. Or, if you want to start getting into some of the music videos, try Hero or Puppet. Can’t wait for the next one!!❤❤❤

She’s so creative. An artist. And your reaction was very interesting. Thanks. ❤ There was a quarantine concert of Faouzia’s stripped songs in Abu Dhabi 2021. On her original songs, it’s just Faouzia singing and playing piano. “Bad Dreams” “You Don’t Even Know Me” “This Mountain” “Born Without a Heart” “Tears of Gold” “The Road” “How It All Works Out” Ferro takes over on piano for “Desert Rose” and “Crazy”. Someone split them into individual songs on YT. The only one I won’t recommend from this concert is “Tears of Gold” because there are better versions.

Hey Itzel! I recommended this concert too since it's the one where she's playing the piano. I'd say there are better versions of all the songs (except maybe The Road?)...but it still shines on its own b/c watching her play/sing live is pretty special. I think what's missing is the acting and emotion that we're used to...perhaps because she was younger and/or nervous...but I still love listening to it! Vocally I think the "Arab Heritage" concert she did shortly afterwards (was it shortly? feels like it) was better vocally but she's not having to play the piano.

@@itzel1735 Agreed - and I wish she had closed it out on the piano with an emotional/powerful crescendo but I see she was trying to introduce herself as more than just a dramatic singer but also a performer. The "deezer home session" performance of Crazy is my favorite...but not live.

Wow! Beautiful! I don’t know, but she reminds me of someone’s voice. Someone I may have heard as a child, unles it is just that Fur Elise is just so familiar? She has such depth! She has the color of Adele a little. Don’t know if you agree? This is my first time listening to her. She has a wonderful variation in her voice, and is very comforting. Thank you Sir Hairless. Thanks Debbie! And yes, this was as good as I can do - any more visible and it gets detected for copyright and blocked completely. I am showing her singing...just at 15% opacity It varies with each video (whether or not I need to filter the video or not) - it's down to the copyright holders which is usually the artist's label. Pentatonix, for example, are very strict with some of their videos, which is why I have to filter them so heavily

This is my first time watching this beautiful performance and I really liked Faouzia’s masterful interpretation of this peculiar composition, thank you! I also loved watching your facial expressions and lively commentary on it; I always learn new things from your reactions :) It’s fascinating how her gorgeous singing style/voice works well with the seemingly surreal frailty depicted by the brave lyrics inserted into this immortal musical theme. It was definitely a very nice choice to be the milestone marking the 200th video uploaded on your channel - congrats, Sir!

Haha yes I did say that As with anything, abilities increase with time (if you continue to practise whatever it is you want to improve). I unfortunately practised no music for the past 6 years at all, and I feel my abilities now are worse than they were when I was, say, 17-21 years of age However, some things never really leave you and just require a bit of an extra 'push' to come back to you, and I feel a lot of musical ability is just like that 🎶

I think the better word for interesting for this song would be creative / artistic as she uses in the lyrics herself (and maybe wants to reflect in the song). This song is a quite creative variation of Beethovens original, quite cool. As Faouzia has some classical piano training she likely deliberately misspelled (and also mispronounced) "Für Elise". I wonder as well what was behind that idea. It seems very deliberate to me. You say it almost sounds a bit unnatural / autotuned at some places. I would strongly assume that is the post production. The producers manually pitch correct nearly all pop music nowadays and it makes long held out notes sometimes sound a bit metallic / unnatural - and she uses them a lot and would not need that correction, so sad.

Fun Fact: In German Elise is pronounced WITH the e at the end - it makes the schwa sound 😊 I bet Beethoven would have liked this version of his song, since he didn’t really like Für Elise. He thought it was too simple, too boring. (Unlike this one - even though I love the original composition as well ❤) Beethoven even tried to improve it with a second version. And that one is a little different. But I think that wasn’t to his liking either. 😅 Do you know Beethoven‘s second version? I don’t think it’s more similar to this song by Faouzia. But on the other hand - it might be. 😅 Brilliant reaction and analysis - as always. ❤😊

I'm not the biggest fan of the original Für Elise, to be completely honest - but maybe that's because it's one of the most overplayed pieces of music of all time (probably) 😅 Just like Pachelbel's Canon I have heard the revised version before, yes Thanks, as always!

But I understand if others don’t. 😅 But not liking Pachelbel‘s Canon? Blasphemy! 😝😂 (At least it‘s not as bad as not liking Bach…that would be really tragic…😳)

@@EllaSilentDragon Haha oh I didn't say I don't like, just not the biggest fan Maybe it's also due to the fact it was played EVERY morning when I walked into assembly in my junior/primary school Funny you mention Bach - I remember when I was much younger I used to be adamant I wasn't a fan of Bach much at all. Imagine I hadn't been too exposed to him and was basing that judgement off a couple of works I'd recently heard. Luckily time happened and my opinions changed

She's now participating in the Singer 2024 competition in China - the same competition that introduced Dimash to the world. They are heading into Round 4 and so far she's won 2 of the 3 rounds. Her songs were Crazy (Gnarls Barkley), Set Fire to the Rain (Adele) and Desert Rose (Sting). All worth a watch, with more to come.
