I don't see Dimash as just a singer. I see Dimash as a vocal painter and a storyteller....through singing and music. His stage presence, his interactions with his listeners, his ability to emote and invoke deep feelings......beside his obvious humongous skills and talent......that's why to me.....he's the best and the greatest singer/vocalist of all time.

Thanks Josh! I watched the whole Singer with Dimash and was really impressed with this competition, the mutual relations between the participants. Mutual respect was evident from the beginning, which probably stems from their culture, but from episode to episode there was a growing friendship between them. Dimash was surely certain of his vocal skills, but stress was very high. Dimash said in an interview that it helped him that he is resistant to stress, but admitted that he was very nervous before the first performance - SOS. It resulted from the fact that nobody knew him, did not hear him and did not know if the audience would like him. They loved him from the first performance, and then they went crazy for him. After the end of the competition, Dimash invited Papa Lin to perform at his big solo concert in Kazakhstan. He also performed together with other participants of the competition. He just sings, he is what he is in that sacred moment. And like in that fairy tale (I think it's a Chinese fairy tale) when the nightingale couldn't sing to the sick emperor trapped in a cage but only in freedom... that's our Dimash. He has to be very careful what contracts he signs so that his originality can grow in freedom. Hey Dad I told you that this version was better than Gakku every body likes the D8 he misses the 2 other run there but here he misses the F7 whistle after the first run but completes the 2 other complex runs . The Back up singers and orchestra/instrumentalist are great on this show :) Even that last big note went from operatic to end in straight tone that is some crazy control :)

Of course, this is not the first experience of participating in an international competition. In 2015, Dimash won the Grand Prix in the international competition "Slavic Bazaar" in Vitebsk (Belarus), and before that he won the international competition in Ukraine. By the way, in Vitebsk there was a remarkable case: one of the contestants put sleeping pills into the water that Dimash drank. There are so many different recorded versions of this song but in this one, I think the emphasis is on the emotion and not so much on theatrics. It really got that audience!

This is my favorite version of Unforgettable Day, although all versions are good in their own way. The second verse of the song is sung in Chinese, and it sounds amazing. And in the Kazakh language, all of Dimash’s songs sound wonderful, as if the native language itself helps him to express himself even better. And yes, The Singer is the best competition that you can imagine, and primarily because of the friendly and humane atmosphere. I think that thanks to Dimash, this competition attracted interest from a non-Chinese audience. And the whole world can meet wonderful talented Chinese performers. The thing about the Singer Competition was that Dimash was sick that week and even though he pressed through the performances they were not as relaxed as his other performances which is why some vocal notes were different or not as powerful as other performances singing the same songs. He still managed to impress, blow away the competition, and skyrocket himself into stardom.

This will be long however an important read I was astonished when I read it! As if the 14 weeks of competition isn't grueling enough he was also mid week going and doing other performances!! I think in the singer competition, if you notice him glancing up (esp when he is singing in Chinese) he’s getting some phonetic reminders of the Chinese lyrics. Being bilingual myself, I can’t imagine how he could remember all those phonetic sounding words so I think that’s what he is doing. Took me many times of watching the singer competition to realize that’s probably how he could remember the lyrics in Chinese. He was able to masked that so well.
