Classic Game Room reviews DESERT STRIKE: RETURN TO THE GULF for Sega Genesis by Electronic Arts released in 1992!! Fly around the desert in four missions where you blow up radar dishes, power stations, weapons factories and lots of tanks! Show the bad guys who's boss with your super helicopter named Ellie-May (that's what I named her). Don't forget to pick up fuel, weapons and ammo because the enemy is mean and doesn't like you... seeing as how you're bombing them and all. Desert Strike is a must have game on Sega Genesis (and Sega Mega Drive), buy it today and then enjoy the sequels Jungle Strike, Soviet Strike, Nuclear Strike and New Jersey Strike.

I have a locked in memory of this game. The day I beat the game was such an awesome day. I remember this huge feeling of satisfaction. I turned the game off and with a smile on my face went into the living room to sit with my parents while they finished watching the Shirley McClane, Nicholas Cage movie "Guarding Tess." Desert Strike and Nicholas Cage. Pure Awesome!

oh hell yes! i used to LOVE these Strike games back in the day, most underrated shooters ever, surprised there hasn't been an HD remake of at least one of these great games..

this game + sonic 3 + mortal kombat 3 = MY SWEET CHILDHOOD :') that game was so damn hard but I kept trying over and over again, never got past the first level, but the memories are priceless... :)

I still have my old Sega back home. I never upgraded. `This was also one of my favorites. He is correct-the missions get tougher as time goes on. I preferred Sega over SNS. Controllers were much easier to work with.

+reaper2345 there should be something for your phone. i got the emulator from google playstore. also needed to download a file manager app to transfer downloaded games onto the emulator. all free and simple.

I remember as a kid we would rent this game every weekend, and return it just to rent it again. Along with all the other games (Urban Strike, Jungle Strike) awesome games. Takes me back to the day!

One of my first video games that I remember getting as a kid. The Genesis was my first system and I spent many hours playing this, NBA Jam, and my 6 pack cartridge!

I used to have this game on the Commodore Amiga, I loved it, it's one that stood out enough for me to remember it despite playing it very young and giving away my Amiga very young.

The entire series no matter what system you played it on was a total gem, cemented classics forever lol. So awesome, made me think as a kid also which was nice..conserve...wheres the fuel drums!!?? Haha. 10/10

Loved this game as a kid and I just picked up a copy to add to my collection, EA had some cool games on the Genesis. Soviet Strike and Nuclear Strike on the Playstation are cool too. lots of good gaming memories with these games.

I agree this series does need to make a comeback. This, jungle strike, Soviet and Nuclear strike were fantastic games. Never played Urban strike.

This game is probably among my favorite game for the Sega Genesis, if not my favorite. I had picked it up at a gaming shop and thought I'd try it out. Well worth the money. I think I payed about $7 for it.

Hey, for anyone who doesn't know, there's another game in this series called Future Cop: LAPD on the PS1. It was originally going to be Future Strike but for whatever reason they changed it to be a game about a police mech that can transform into a hovercar.
