Julie (Wendy Schaal) has inadvertently made a deal with the Devil (Roddy McDowall) and has to get Roarke (Ricardo Montalban) involved to save her. So, he decides to take her place.

Pretty good writing for this show. Fwiw, I appreciated everyone's efforts, but this series was hardly great TV. Looking back, the camp aspect was obviously something I missed the first time around.

I was a busboy back in the days in L.A restaurant and Montalban was a regular and I have to say he was a class act all the way and always treated you like a VIP, and was a good tipper , his wife was very humble too. Miss those good old days

Eh, it was pretty brainless a lot of the times, and some of the episodes are embarrassingly inane. It was harmless, though, and there are plenty of less-cringey episodes where you can just switch your brain of and enjoy some frothy, substance-free fun.

They became the best of friends when they worked in the Planet of the Apes sequels in the 70s. I heard it was McDowell who personally asked him to be interviewed for the documentary on the Apes film series in the 90s.

Fantasy Island was one of the great TV shows of my youth. Two actors of exceptional skill through their careers. This was an excellent scene to demonstrate their ability. Now I want to see the conclusion of this episode 🙂.

I’ve been a member at the LA Arboretum for 25+ years . I stroll through there frequently. The Victorian home is there and always reminds me with each visit ,of a scene out of fantasy island.
