I mean let's try to imagine that he took the Alaska shorcout to Russia and the he walked to China, still sounds really unprovable because he'd have to be extremely careful on his way to Canada and then walk all the way to Alaska which there it already sounds impossible, and then he'd have to take a boat a go to Russian and then he'd have to avoid all the бандита slavs and then make his way to China to get killed by radiation, china is said to be to most irradiated zone in the fallout bible

If you help Dave get to Old Olney. He will chill at the trash bins and tell you to get lost if you bug him. I remember I spent about 30 mins in real time walking Dave there and then wren we got there and he told me to get lost. I went and attracted some death claws led them to Dave and popped a stealth boy. Dave didn’t last long and he died brutally

They are a plague that lasts for years, until the newly formed Democracy of Rosie brings them down. You march into the wastes, leaving the corpse of Dave behind you, never to return to this extremely odd family's household. "What the f*** just happened?", you think to yourself.

The very best way to expend 32 caliber rounds. You don't want to use ammunition in weak guns in a game where wasteful use of resources is not recommended.

An early run to the PE bobblehead also provides this amazing rifle. At a point in the game where it can really shine. If you like to boost lockpick early = Bethesda ruins, then Dave.

Dave treated his kids well because it fed into his ego, not because he cared or was a good father. He didn't discipline them or teach them, he spoiled them, because it fed his ego to be a "great dad". The kids are way better off without him.

Gotta love Fallout 3. You're on a quest to find your own father, but in the process, you can get mixed up in a situation where you have the option of taking away some other kids' father. That's some heavy stuff right there. Also, I made it the Republic of Rosie when I went there. Because fuck Dave. For some reason though, even though I didn't clear out Old Olney, when I went there later, Dave was still sitting and moping in a corner, despite being surrounded by deathclaws. Maybe it's because I didn't follow him there.

Yeah - the kids lost a father. But is it really such a loss, losing a father who is so egocentric that he abandons his family because he didn't win? Good riddance to bad rubbish! Hopefully, the new person in charge will teach the kids to lose with dignity. Also- just because a parent buys their kids toys and puts food on the table doesn't automatically make them a loving parent.

You guys are a bit too harsh. Dave is a very principled man who does keep to his ideals of a republic and even in the face of losing, just walks away from it all instead of calling the election forfeit (unless glitch). And no matter what, THE LONE WANDERER, is not letting the democratic process happen but rather swinging the election for their own desire unless you let Dave win.

Really? The people are fed and sheltered in Republic of Dave, plus they don't have public executions, they actually seem to be content. Millions don't die of starvation, they don't run literally through bullets to get to the South... A defector said he actually dobbed in his own family member for stealing because of the brainwashing they do to you, the punishment was public execution, the way he describes her body during their firing squad, crumbling in pieces because they shoot in sections... As someone who's never known my irl father but had to actually cut ties with a toxic mother I would say that Dave leaving them like that, whilst scarring for obvious reasons would actually be the best case scenario for the children considering that Dave rules like an Authoritarian brat. It is one thing to treat your children well and that surely deserves some points of respect but what you teach them as a role figure is JUST as important, Rosie is in this regard a rolemodel they should be following and she can pull the children through while teaching them the real stuff maybe while she is in office she can have Shawna and Jessica help her do so. It is Dave once again, what's the problem with their settlement, and problems need to go away, in this case literal.

I think it's best to give the presidency to Rosey but only after clearing out Old Olney. After all some day he may grow up and miss his family. Learn to appreciate them. By then his second wife will probably be gone. I doubt she'll stick around with him gone. That just leaves his real family.

It is actually possible to walk to china, one merely walks to the Alaskan coast preferably just in time for winter, wander across the bearing straight because it freezes over every year, head a couple hundred miles into Russia then turn south and you can waltz straight into Manchuria. It'd take at least a year but you could do it.
