I didn't kill the brains either, not even Mobius. Their existence is punishment enough, with Big MT their big jail cell and mental degradation their ultimate fate. I think it's far better the Think Tank and Mobius remain alive. Their minds are still incredibly intelligent, and can be used to great effect for surviving humanity, though the Courier is a necessary middleman. Mobius was right when he said the world was not ready for their, "too-far-thing-taking." It's like parents passing on knowledge to their children. These minds remaining can keep the knowledge of the old world, though they were part of why it was destroyed, in order to build the new world.

Since there is the ability to protect the Mojave from them, I absolutely agree. They have years of experience, and even if some was taken away, there are glimmers of that humanity coming back.

I don't know about the others, but Klein does never show even a tiny little bit of intelligence throughout the story of the DLC. He is the stupidest thing on earth and it is quite sad he is running the place. I wish there was an option to kill him and let the others live, they would be so much better of without him.

First thing I did back in the Mojave was punch a deathclaw in the face, because I hadn't thought about trying that. Good job, brain. Note: Brain will have the same line about Helios One and Jason Bright regardless of if you completed those quests. If you did not complete one or both before Old World Blues, the game may glitch out, and brain will repeat that line until you exit the game and reload making that particular dialogue tree unviable. Roxie, Rex (companion), and their cyber puppies is my favorite side ending in the entire game! They're so cute together! (...T-shirt?) Glad you're back, Oxhorn! We missed you. 8 has a bit of a different dialogue at the end if you hack him - or maybe I should say Klein has a bit of a different response to his dialogue. It's a bit more fearful, asking why 8 is acting like a zombie. I honestly wanted an option to release the think tank - I just liked those brains more than I liked everyone in the Mohave not being vivisected. :3

What’s really beautiful with the DLCs is the ideas that flow through them. One great idea is that in the good/true endings each area has a guardian. The Sierra Madre has Christine overlooking it. Zion had the Survivalist, then Joshua & Daniel. Big MT has the Courier. The Divide has Ulysses. Then you let the NCR annex New Vegas or Mr House rule.

@@idahooo3253 and after few more years Caesar dies and we are back to raiders but now we also have a civil war due to power vacuum. Also I fail to see how there isn't already lots of unnecessary suffering in the legion itself. Is every single decimation and crucifixion really that necessary? At least Mr. House is immortal and his army is made of robots so no civil war. Even NCR offers more security to the wastes in the long run while also valuing people's freedom and quality of life.

I do think that more games should have more DLC, and especially content, that has so much effort and soul put into it. OWB (Old World Blues) was so much fun and one of the best experiences that I have ever had, and I didn't even play it. For so much thought and emotion to come from just the story alone; I hope not just Obsidian, but all game content creators put in their best effort and make plenty more memorable adventures in the near and far future. P.S. Who is your favorite of the Think Tank scientists?

It comes down to the future for me: In my headcanon, the courier periodically returns to the MT lab and manages it after the events at the Hoover Dam. Given a new scientific drive and purpose by a non-degraded brain, the MT lab is able to churn out long-lost and desperately needed technology like the advanced water purification techniques used in the village, the life support and medical data in the suit and the auto docs, manufacturing techniques, bio-research etc. that are needed to rebuild and improve the ruined world and help the various tribes maintain non-violent methods of subsistence or help the communities overlooked by an overburdened NCR. The Think Tank and Moebius, degraded as they are, are still brilliant minds capable of much research and innovation with the right direction. No matter the past that died with the old world (which was pretty much bad news all around as we learn time and time again in the various games), they are needed for the present. Just like a toaster hell-bent on world domination can lay the groundwork for new and improved constructions, so can the ghosts of an era gone by lay the groundwork for the living of tomorrow. Afterall... without Vault-Tec and their experiments, the NCR would have never come into existence, the Capital wasteland would not have access to clean water and the Enclave would have taken over long ago.

Oxhorn, I want you to realize just how awesome Obsidian is. Two of my favorite games are Kotor 2 and New Vegas. You can see the love and care taken by the devs in both as they are both very similar situations. Both were set in a very established canon and both respected that immensley. You saw more care with canon when Obsidian is at the helm than Bethesda or Bioware. And each one added massive quality of life changes and expanded systems from the previous game. The fact that one of the Devs on New Vegas was a gun nut did not suprise me after playing the game and finding it out. I knew someone that respected firearms and the physics behind them was working on New Vegas. The same way I knew that Obsidian respected the Fallout universe and did it's best to incorporate that vast fiction reliably into their take. All the while still making a very fun game that you can play any way you want! Old World Blues was one of my favorite gaming experiences and I'm going to go make a new New Vegas character just because of it. Gonna steal every, single, book I can and take them with me to Big MT. Gonna cheese the fuck out this one!

DEFINITELY one of the most creative and interesting DLCs I've ever played, certainly in the Fallout franchise. I spent a LOT of time in the Big Empty but I obv missed a lot of content. The Voice Actors, the warped mindset of the 'brains', the Amazing and Astounding backdrop and stories. A close second was always the Bioshock Infinite DLC with Booker de Witt then Elizabeth taking control in Chapter 2. There are possibly more but these 2 do come to mind {I'm just sad that a DLC wasn't made for Planescape:Torment or Thief 1, 2 or 3}. Thank you for the full completion of every outcome, Oxhorn! I never did have a conversation with my brain - although, tbh? I didn't have the Medicine/Tech skills to complete some of the conversational jousts - and I was happy with the new spine, heart and brain so I figured 'why would I want my old crappy meat parts when these upgraded parts are so much better?' and left Empty without any 'endstory' narration...which seems odd[?]. EDIT: How come the geniuses who created the wonderful DLCs of FO3 and FONV create such TRIPE as FO4's 'Become a Raider for fun' DLC???? Seriously? Whatever it is called, it is the laziest, most asinine, downright complacent attempt at 'writing' for a DLC... you simply 'become' a Raider or 'Fiend' and go around murdering, torturing and blackmailing the very people you went a long way to save from these monsters. It's so bloody lazy I cannot get my head around it. Of course, there will always be people who want to try out the life of a Raider, but it's not as if it's THAT hard to do that anyway. Just kill every child or family you find and laugh maniacally as you torture their siblings and rape the wife whilst making the husband watch... there will ALWAYS be 14 yr olds and adults who want to do that because their life experiences are very short and safe and 'risk' is something they've never truly experienced. It's just such a cheap, nasty and, above all, lazy DLC when compared to the FONV and FO3 DLCs. I guess it's done for the millenials? They seem to be a narcissistic, self-indulgent, sociopathic bunch. No. It's just the 'spirit of the age', I think.
