I’m a dumper and this is spot on. If my ex approached things this way I’d definitely feel closer to him and open to him

Clive, initiating a breakup doesn't make the dumper innocent and a good partner. Sometimes, the breakup is the direct result of the dumper's own mistakes (a video on dumpers adding insult to injury by causing a breakup as a result of the unhappiness they themselves brought into the relationship might actually be a good idea, as that is a complex psychological position for the one who is left to be in). Exes are just as richly human as everyone else.

Yessss! EXACTLY. My ex dumped me but our main problem was he wouldn't communicate and he drank a LOT and had big-time anger issues. Silent treatments like a toddler.... So when I FINALLY stood up for myself THAT'S when he acted a complete fool and very cruel and cold and suddenly kicked me out with nowhere to go. For the second effn time. I dont think he'll ever see his side of the problems. Or just doesn't want to.

Yes this one! Both of us have faults in the break up, but mostly it was because he bottled up everything and didn’t tell me what he was feeling and his issues + his own struggles with his life/career. He brought those upon himself. Although, I have faults as well, those were things he chose to do.

I'm the 'dumper' but out of frustration of not being able to have conversations to resolve things. (Both our faults?). Didn't know what else to do, but still love him and hope we can get on a good track soon.

Dear Clay, thanks so much for taking the time to pinpoint to these specific behaviors. I just had a 18-hour date with my ex after a 6-month period of not being together. Your advice was actually pretty much which allowed me to emotionally reconnect with her.

Thank you Clay from the bottom of my heart. Your videos and coaching got me thru a difficult breakup. It happened slowly and I should of saw the signs she was giving me. she was unhappy in our relationship but I ignored her wishes to work on some changes. Two months later and a rebound relationship later she’s back being present and we’ve been connecting emotionally. We are taking things slow but thank you so much for all your advice and appreciate your KZfaq channel dearly. You’ve taught me so much.

Clay it's been 4 years since she broke up with me,,was together 13 years in my home and the last 6 years I raised and loved 2 of her sons kids and when I wouldn't agree to raise 2 more she left and never let me see the kids again,,,she was cruel all through the breakup and now 4 years later she sent me a text asking if she could call me and talk,,, she knows I'm with someone else and she even got married herself was a fast marriage and I know she projected what I was on him and he didn't measure up as I set the bar high, l sent back I didn't want any problems but she could call,, she sent back she don't need to talk to me,,,even now her foolish pride remains.

My ex and I recently began talking and intimacy. It was a positive experience which allowed me to suggest ground rules i.e. we b open not necessarily on emotional issues (she's always honest when she expresses heartfelt issues), no shaming behaviors (non existent replaced with her deep seated self discovery journey), and that on my part I'm open to anything this new contact and journey takes us (she noted wanting independence....umm. I'm watching what this msg is) and that 1 month from now we spend her bday together. (8 yrs on/off neva happened bc recovery issues). Independence reply? What's ur thoughts?

It’s been months after the breakup and we both rebounded. She is hanging out with mutual friends again after she dated the rebound for two months. She asks about me and when we met at the birthday of my friend she was staring and acting very jealous and trying to talk to me. I ingored her. Because it hurt me to talk to her. I texted her and she responded that it wasn’t good for us to talk ( she mentioned things that happened during breakup). After a week we texted again and had a nice conversation for the first time in 6 months. untill she ignored me again out of nowhere. I did mention that I dated others tho but she started ignoring me a few days larer. I called her and asked her why. She didn’t give me a clear answer. She tells my friend she cant talk to me for now. And when I met her again she was looking very upset and tried to ignore me. When I text her I try to be very friendly and not mentioning the relationship. Why is she like this to me? What can I do to make her open up?

Hi Clay! Could you please make a video about drunk texting and calling? My ex keeps doing this approx. once a month, although he's in a rebound relationship. He wants to leave his girlfriend home and meet up with me. We were together for 12 years, so I know he's not a drunk texter or caller. I'm really concerned about him and would like to know how to approach to this.

Honestly, I would block him so he can't cross your boundaries when he is intoxicated. He is with someone else. If you remove yourself you'll be taking some of your power back. You deserve better than crumbs while he is giving himself to someone else. Give him the gift of missing you

@@barbarakrasnik5673 You broke up with him he's hurt. That rebound woman came at a time of his vulnerability. He was hurt, alone. Probably wasnt sure if he could have you back. Of course nobody but you knows why u broke up with him. Maybe not even him. Him being drunk alot of times being abnormal. Is what clay talks about in ur ex's rebound behaviour videos.

What if your ex has just gone back and forth with what they want and say they love you but thinking getting back would be a step back but then asks me about my plans on moving to see if she made the right choice then gives you 4 reasons as to why she said something that went from im not happy with "rebound" to i dont want you back

My ex is very introverted he barely leaves the house and says to go to work and he's not very good expressing how he feels and he's very stubborn and indecisive

So what do I do with my ex wife? We got a divorce over her being "cold hearted" and me letting my emotions come out in fights. We're ok now but she is going through the "hoe phase" but to her sex is just sex no emotions involved. I tell her I'm here for her and she comes to me sometimes when she "messes up" but she doesn't show that she misses me or anything and she is perfectly fine with a life with her "guy friends". And anytime we talk about changes I get the whole "track record" which is change is cheep she only thinks I'm blowing smoke. What do I do to let her know I respect her decision for the divorce but I wanna try us again when she is ready

I don’t know your ex, but I’m like her too. I do have bipolar, so I pull away. It took me quite some time to open back up, but by then my ex (hes a great man) had just given up and pulled away from me. Sometimes women can go great amounts of time shutting down. Has she had any trauma in the past, by chance?

It's sounds like your ex is wanting to let things grow naturally without having the pressure. That's the concept that we have inside the course. It is not about doing the tips and tricks to get her back but it is all about inspiring her affection back in an organic way.

Clay, how do you get your ex to show these behaviors themselves? My ex has a big problem with listening to understand and showing empathy. 1.)My ex doesn't listen to understand, she listens to respond and therefore forgets or misunderstands/misinterprets a lot of the things we've talked about. On more than a few occasions she has started a conversation about something we ALREADY TALKED ABOUT as if she forgets. 2.)We both have similar feelings and situations going on. For example, she feels strongly for her first rebound in the same way that I feel for her. She posts a lot of things that speak our situation clearly but basically hands out double standards and excludes me when based on what I've learned from her, we are both going through the same emotional process.

when my ex and i get back together after being apart since 2013, im setting a standard that we have been dating since 2015. ive been dedicated to her and i will wait as long as it takes because when she comes back, we are picking up our relationship when we were supposed to get back together. ya she has a loser boyfriend whos unemployed and lives with mom and dad, but that all disappears when we're back together. like the relationship that shes in right now never happened. she has no idea who that guy is cuz her and i have been in a relationship since 2015
