Just a tip: cleaning the light switches holds a lot of germs! I always clean them and door knobs!

I read somewhere that by leaving the windows open for just one hour a day during the cold weather reduces the chances of your family getting sick by 79%. We have done it for the last two years and we have only been sick twice at the most.

Hey girl, just a heads up since I didn’t realize this until recently. All the cleaners you use to disinfect have to stay on the surface and stay wet for a few minutes. If you wipe them off too quickly they aren’t disinfecting anything! The directions on the back say how long but most are between 3 & 5 minutes. Crazy because I never left it on that long, but it’s the only way to actually kill the virus and bacteria!

Open windows too so it can air out.

Unfortunately, exposure is the best for an underdeveloped immune system. Also, although it sounds counterintuitive, do not use antibacterial handsoaps/cleaners... there are good germs that help keep the bad germs at bay and by removing all of them, it opens up more space for the bad germs to come again (very easy to pick them up)

Have you tried mixing medicine in Gatorade or juice and just not tell him there's medicine in it? Maybe that would work!

We love Elderberry Syrup too! When the kids at the flu that's all they took for it!

When my son was sick we did layers on his bed. A mattress cover that we used for potty training, fitted sheet, another mattress cover and fitted sheet with towels. It made it easier for middle of the night sheer changes

Washed bedding, blankets, towels and rugs with the Lysol laundry sanitizer, steam mopped, wiped everything down with the peroxide based wipes, deep cleaned bathrooms. My youngest gets everything and the worst of it 😕 she will only take medicine if I mix it with Capri sun lol

There is a Lysol laundry sanitizer now and I LOVE IT!! I use it in bed clothes and towels!

Clean light switches door knobs with bleach. Everything that can be bleached bleach it. Lysol brand lll for everything that cant be bleached! Hand sanitizer does not work against stomach bugs. Wash wash wash hands!! Hope everyone feels better!

This may sound weird, but if you bathe Harlow every night, it could be contributing to the problem of a weaker immune system. Just a thought! :)

Sicknesses suck. Especially when its your kids. Thats a good chunk of why we decided to homeschool. Yes exposure is a good way to help them stay healthy but I feel like they have no hope of staying healthy at public school. My kids have good immune systems and I'm hoping to keep it that way lol

Our pediatrician told us that younger siblings usually get sick the easiest because their body can't fight off the germs that their older siblings bring home. It's just something we have to deal with until the younger one's system builds up. Hopefully Harlow grows out of it fast!

Girl, I feel you! As soon as the sick germs come around, I start diffusing tea tree oil, & get to cleaning EVERYTHING.. there are so many great natural remedies to help, what brand elderberry syrup do you use?

I have 3 children.... And one hates medicine.. and my pharmacist told me that white grape juice specifically helps cut the medicinal taste... So put a tiny bit of medicine and mix a tiny bit of juice.. and work in " batches" and it's worked like a charm! Side note... I just found your channel and I'm literally obsessed;)

Culterelle probiotic is also great. It’s a flavorless powder you just mix in any drink. For the sick kiddos who are vomiting it’s also really important to keep them hydrated. Popsicles is a great treat!

You can have frank power wash the area rug! Let it lay in the sun to dry completely! The sun also will help with any leftover odors!

When my family and I get sick I always spray all common services with lysol spray. Door knobs sink faucets, light switches, mattresses, tVs, handles to cabinets. Ect

Homemade elderberry syrup is amazing. My daughter got really sick when she was 2... I’m not sure what she had but it was getting so much worse w/each day. I was giving her good medicine & supplements for it, but each day the cough was much more horrible along with other symptoms. By like the 4th or 5th day I thought she was going to need to go to the hospital for her breathing. I texted my neighbor about it and she had some homemade Elderberry syrup so she brought me a jar. In one day, whatever my daughter had COMPLETELY was gone.

This is helping me stay motivated for my late night stress cleaning.. but, for the virus, you should let the bleach and any disinfectant spray sit for at least 3 minutes for it to really kill all the germs/viruses. Drinking Tea with sugar helps with an upset stomach, from throwing up and keeps you hydrated. My mom used to give us this every time when we get sick or get a stomach bug. I still do this till this day. When we drink tea it somehow stays in our stomach and we would feel better. and if we drink water or other liquids instead we would throw up immediately. I thought it could be helpful the next time it happens again. Btw I hope that next time isn't gonna happen for a long long time😂 love you guys💜

I take oil of oregano pill or oil is fine but the oil tasted horrible but it works to keep cold away and to help lessen a cold.

B....My son Levi is also 5 and he likes the chewable grape Tylenol tablets. Maybe try Nolan on those and he may take them more easily than the syrup. It says ages 2-11.

I'm a little more OCD than most people but I also use latex gloves when cleaning up vomit and just cleaning when there's sickness in the house!

I see in many videos that toothBrushes are left on the side in a bathroom where there is a toilet pan . When The toilet is flushed small micro spores are left in the air these will land on the toothbrushes not a good idea, don't leave the lid up when flushing and keep it closed when not in use. If someone is unwell with sickness just give them cooled boiled water to drink no food for 24 hours to give the stomach a rest. Slowly introduce dry toast (stay away from all dairy) mashed banana and grated apple. Make sure all the family wash their hand after using the bathroom and handling food . Always Always wash your hand after coming from the outside.

I love the Elderberry gummies. They are amazing. The gummies taste so much better than the syrup in my opinion. I almost couldn't keep it down. My body didnt want to stop it 🤣 the gummies taste like grape juice to me lol

Whenever sickness happens in the house I make sure to wipe down light switches, door handles, cupboard handles, refrigerator & oven handles/ stove knobs, faucets, television remotes, keyboards, cell phones/tablets, keep up on the toilet handle & bathroom faucet handles, throw out the tooth brushes, the hand towel goes in the laundry & i replace with paper towels until the sickness is over. quarantine the sick person (they usually watch television, lay in bed sleeping/relaxing, keeping hydrated with their water bottle). Since i started doing this, the duration of the sickness is shorter and it doesn't take the whole family out with the sickness. Now not everyone gets sick. Sickness might happen once maybe twice in a year, and is more mild (This is with living in in a Northern state (near Canada) weather constantly changes).

All of the cleaning products you used have to sit for a certain amount of time to actually kill any germs. Just spraying and wiping immediately doesn't work.

I put toothbrushes in dishwasher when sick if it’s not time for new. Get all handles and switches good. And tops of soap dispensers. I wasted so much money with toilet stuff for rings. Dont put anything inside tank or that gets chemicals in tank. It ruined my stoppers and i had to replace them all bc toilets started running. Those in the bowl things never last or work for me

Lysol makes a laundry sanitizer that you use as an add in now. It might be a gimmick for all i know but it makes me feel better when we have those types of situations 🤷🏻‍♀️ also target has this spray hand sanitizer that’s 1.99 i think it’s called “everyone for every body” and it’s coconut lemon scented. Smells so good my kids ask for it, so we use it on our hands every time we get in the car after school/shopping.

I realized a lot of moms don't know about the chewable Tylenol and Motrin tablets found at all stores. I myself I didn't realize until my third kid! They can take them starting at two years old! No more fussing over measuring or squirting it in their mouth. My kids love the flavor, have to remind them it's not candy! Hope this helps!!

With our youngest we mix gummy vitamins in with normal gummies before handing them to him. We put them I'm the normal gummy containers it comes in. We also put liquid medicine in cinniamon apple sauce.

Look into Elderberry/Echinasia syrup (they also make it in gummies). It has been a game changer in our home! The echinasia I think is what makes the difference. Not just elderberry alone.

My son was the same way with medicine everytime I would give him some he would gag and throw everything back up so what I did was I took a dropper and kinda put it back like in his cheek area and had him swallow really quick and it helped with him not tasting it... thankfully now that he's 6 hes way better at just taking it with the medicine cup I dreaded when he was sick and we had to do medicine. It was definitely awful so I definitely know what you're going through having a child that has a hard time with medication and even taking vitamins I still have a rough time with the vitamins.

Also just remember even with a sickness if it happens in the car seat don’t disinfect it just warm soapy water on a damp rag then sun them for smell always make sure you administer small amounts of drinks so they don’t try and chug them.. my sons dr said Rice Krispies dry are ok for this stomach bug also

My 10 year old son doesn’t like the medicine either. Ever since he was a baby he would gag and vomit every time I tried to give him any. I think it’s the texture he can’t tolerate. Now even at 10 he will only take soluble paracetamol. So I have to put that in a bit of water. It tastes awful but that’s all he will take and he blocks his nose when he drinks it. This has only been for the last year or so. I used to have to use cold cloths to cool him down.

My youngest use to be like Harlow. Always picking bugs and germs up.. more so when he started school. As the years have gone on he’s hardly poorly. I was told by a doctor friend that when children start school their immune system isn’t strong enough to fight things going around and as they progress through school it’s gets stronger. Catching stomach bugs isn’t a bad thing, more of an inconvenience. It makes their immune system stronger. Still I absolutely hate the stomach bug illness.
