@@wagonkit Got the same car, find myself putting a quart every week or so. But I don't think it's my rings, although it could contribute to it. I think it's my valve cover gasket and/or bad valve seals. Reason for gasket is cause of burnt oil around the engine head. As for valve seals, when I first start my car up, I see a light blue smoke. It goes away after like 10 - 15 seconds, no smoke when driving.

@@Odamate Yeap, sounds like valve seals if thats what it is doing. You can also change the PCV valve too, sometimes it will stick. That and the valve cover gasket are easy fixes. Valve seals, maybe not so much. You could try using a seal conditioner...

There are other videos that show how to remove everything. Pretty simple process.

Did cleaning the throttle body take care of your issue? I just bought a 2010 Camry that’s having the same issues.

Check your iac sensor and clean it. That measures idling when throttle is closed, could be too open allowing more air than usual to flow into the engine

My 2008 eats alot. I'm around 200k miles and I use about one quart a week.

My 2007 was going through oil like no ones business. Check the valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket. It solved my problem!

@@sierracurtis110 how did you get if fixed? Did you replace the oil pan gasket? We took it to Toyota about 5 plus years ago and complained about the issue and they didn't do anything about it. I took it to a local mechanic about a year or two ago and he said it's normal and he wouldn't recommend me do anything about it yet. So i don't know.

Yeah my 07 drinks a lot of oil too, it’s a issue with the piston rings on these model years. I Repleced the pcp and it did nothing. But oil’s cheap so I just keep a eye on it

Got it fixed! Turns out it was the pcv hose. I guess it dry rotted and when I was moving the valve cover I guess it finally gave out. My local part houses didn't have it so I had to go to the dealership. It only cost $23.50 so it wasn't bad. The car runs a million times better now. I can now run my AC at red-lights and stop signs.

Take a long pry bar or a cane and push the gas pedal to the floor with one end and wedge between the driver seat cushion.

u can also put a screw driver on the side of it and it will stay open ps do not spray the cleaner directly into the throttle body spray it on a brush or rag and clean it

most car manufacturers recommend u do it around 75k but I would recommend cleaning it out once every 30-40k to get the best performance out of ur car take my advice and ur car will run forever if u maintain it I have a 2014 camry se with the 2AR-FE one of the most reliable engines in the world when buying spark plugs and ignition coils for these cars only use denso or NGK spark plugs and ignition coils to prevent miss fires and premature wear as for replacement parts such as starter - alternator - ac compressor I highly recommend using only denso because they are made to replace OEM parts Wich are the factory parts that came on the car when bought new - as for belts i highly recommend a company called Gates they make really good serpentine and pulley belts u can get a timing belt & a water pump kit with gasket included for $150 with tax u will not find a better deal for the buck if ur headlight are fading away u can restore them if they have been exposed in the sun for a long time or u can buy brand new after market ones anywhere from $160-240 depending what kind u want and wich site I prefer Amazon or eBay DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA DIRECTLY UNLESS ABSOLUTELY A MUST U WILL BE PAYING 4x THE PRICE they wanted to charge me almost $700 bucks for a new set of headlights I got brand new ones on Amazon for $200 when it comes to brakes for these cars I highly recommend the PowerStop z17 brake kit comes with drilled slotted rotors and calipers both front and rear and a set of evolution brake pads for front and rear these brake pads are amazing for stopping power and long lasting last set I had on my car lasted me almost a full 3 years and the price is very affordable at $450 for the full kit when it comes to coolant I highly recommend using the Zerex pink / red coolant Wich is recommended by Toyota / Lexus and it has a very high life span on it as for air and cabin air filters I know most of them say replace every 10-30k miles depending on the brand but if u want to get the most out of ur car and inhale fresh air I recommend buying the K&N washable filter with the self cleaning kit for $60 and u replace it twice a year and I’ll be fine as for oil and oil filters a lot of people have different options / opinions but I would highly recommend using mobile one oil and oil filters to get the best performance out of ur vehicle oil changes should be done usually every 3-5k if ur running full synthetic if ur running just conventional oil get it done at 3k and ull be fine tire pressures for this vehicle is set at 30psi FYI it says it on the door panel once ur car gets to about 70-80k I recommend cleaning out ur throttle body from carbon build up or u can buy a brand new one if u want for around $170-250 on most sites especially Amazon and eBay - pay attention where u buy prices can be 3-4x more for instance a good quality bosh throttle body for this camry u can get on 1A auto for $170 but autozone will try to sell u a duralast one for $900 😂 do research before u buy and always remember always buy denso - or NGK spark plugs and coils and starters and ax compressors if possible

If you have never done it and you’re at 230k, I would 100% look at that immediately. I just cleaned my 1997 BMW’s throttle and it made a huge difference at 147k. Dont ask me why, but I cleaned/changed everything else thinking it was an electrical issue. At least $300 wasted when it was just a the throttle plates. All I needed was a $7 can of TB cleaned 🤦🏽‍♂️ My dad has a 09 Camry and I’m going to clean it for him. He’s getting high and rough idle with AC on at red lights. Good luck friend!

What is the oil level at when it dies?

@@master6435 the oil level was full. @Richard I cleaned the Throttle body and Mass airflow sensor and it hasn’t died since and idle has normalize. Thanks for the video.
