Thank you again. Concerns over the same thing is why the Blackstone I purchased on Black Friday is still in the box in the garage. I only have enough room under my grilling canopy for one device. I really need to get the patio covered better

I actually spent a bunch of money mid 2020 to cover about 1/3 of my deck. Enough for my smoker and griddle. I’m not sure where the water came from to cause rust. But it was uncovered and unused since the fall sometime. After using it a couple days in a row, I realize how much I’ve missed it.

@@slapastickketo4980 Doesn't matter how well your patio or griddle are covered. Rust is inevitable due to condensation caused by humidity.

It took me way longer to figure this out then it should have. Just take the griddle portion off in the winter and store it. No matter what brand you have, all of them come off that I have seen. It makes it so much easier

I picked it up at Walmart. Here’s a link to It from there. May be able to find it somewhere else cheaper, I actually had all the stuff I needed to clean it this weekend when I found this at the store lol. Looked better. www.walmart.com/ip/Blackstone-Signature-Series-3-in-1-Griddle-Cleaning-Tool/836688241

That griddle didn't need a cleaning. It needs a complete stripping and reseasoning, from square one.

How long did the cleaning, and seasoning last? Before the rust came back.
@slapastickketo4980 Жыл бұрын
I only got to use it about 4 times because my hose stopped working. But it was still 2-3 months after before it started coming back. Mine is sheltered.

Saw a comment on another video. They put a coating of vinegar. Let it set. It loosened up the rust.

I wish I would’ve seen this recently. I would’ve tried that too. I had to do mine again because the propane quit coming through and I finally got a new hose and replaced it.

Cleaning the griddle??? Have you ever heard that old saying “rust on the griddle adds hair to your fiddle.” Or “ When the griddle has rust it adds hair to your bust” sometimes I can’t tell if I have rust on my food or if it is the old bay seasoning I added while cooking. What else are you going to tell me? That the saying “A spoon full of Lead makes you smart in the head” isn’t true? 🤣🤗
@slapastickketo49802 жыл бұрын
😂🤣😂🤣 Now I have to sprinkle my own rust on top of it when cooking
