That’s not abuse. It is simply use. I have a full set of these that I’d rather use than clean!

Please do a video showing cleaning the inside, that's where I have the issues.

If the internal is traditionally TIN lined, it will became OPAQUE and DULL for sure. It is NORMAL (even if UGLY) and perfectly SAFE: TIN metal developes a subtle layer of harmless OXIDE that prevent further oxidation. If you try to keep it shine, like stainless steel, you will short its life. Every now and then fill the pan with water and a couple of spoons of BICARBONATE (baking soda) and keep it boiling for 5-10 minutes: it will clear the tin surface to a light grey and also remove possibly debris.

@@BottegaDelRame Fall pans aren’t lined with tin but rather stainless steel, I suspect Susan is struggling with polymerised oils on the stainless steel lining.

@@WineShaman If her pan is made by Falk, she can use Bar Keepers Friend on the inside as well as the outside. I have an AllClad D5 pan that I burned dry (forgot to turn burner off) and thought it was ruined. I tried BKF but finally used a Brillo soap pad, many scrubbings, and was able to make it look brand new. I was surprised to learn that BKF could be used on the Falk stew pan that I purchased, inside and out. Such a beautiful pan ! @Susan G

My mother's copper bottom Revere Ware is much worse than this and Bar Keepers friend or salt/lemon juice doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?

Make a loose paste with vinegar, some flour and a bit of salt. Vinegar's the cleaning agent, flour will thicken it so you can apply and let the paste stand for a few minutes, and salt as a mild abrasive.

this method really doesn't work for me... II have Falk cookware and barkeeps friend works but doest get the pan fully clean , I am going to try white vinegar and salt

Can we use a same method to clean inside (front) part of the pan?
@bloozedaddy Жыл бұрын
Yes. You can also use fine salt mixed with lemon juice or vinegar. Barkeepers Friend is a great product... Powder or Liquid.

Been cooking in copper for 15 years. Been using Bar Keeper Friend for as long. Really don't understand people who pay a fortune for copper cookware then let it go to sh** while it only takes 30 seconds scrubbing a pot or pan after use to get it back to sparkling state... diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I guess!

Copper Kitchen - Thank you for a great video. WHAT TYPE OF SCRUB PAD ARE USING? I assume it is a non-scratch pad? Your method works fine for removing tarnish and light carbonized grease (aka the black blotches on the copper). HOWEVER, those natural methods do NOT remove heavy carbonized grease without using an abrasive scrub pad / tool, which severely scratches the copper. IF YOU CAN DISCOVER A METHOD TO REMOVE HEAVY CARBONIZED GREASE without using abrasive compounds or tools, you will be my hero. My mother's 1948 wedding set of RW is awesome ... except is has over 60 years of heavy carbonized grease on the copper. I have yet to find a way to remove the worst black blotches.

@@mizzprezli I wish it were that easy. Have you ever tried to remove big black blotches of carbonized grease thoroughly baked onto copper? Though thanks for offering a tip.

@@ChristinaMitchell-USA Somehow my husband manages to remove tar like gunk on his baking sheets with "elbow grease", as he puts it😑 I could use an arsenal of Mr. Cleans magic elbows & not even scratch the surface but soaking them in vinegar for aboutique 15z-20 min does help. Also, I just started making my own household all-purpose cleaner & I'm actually impressed with how well hardened evil seems to dissolve in no time with 5-6 drops of lemon essential oil for every OZ of water you prepare, then I add 1 light squeeze of which hazel for every OZ of water I use in this mix. This mix takes down the enimy & I really love how it softens your hands after using it.

You removed the stains, but you didn’t restore the shine. And that’s really the whole point of owning copper. Isn’t it? The mirror pink fiinish.
