Oh Jordan!!! God spared you son. If a log had slipped, you could have been trapped or worse swept under the bridge and drowned.... PLEASE PLEASE TAKE A "HELPER" ALONG WITH YOU IN CASE YOU SHOULD RUN INTO A DANGEROUS SITUATION. PRAYERS.

If you have a torch blow a hole in the end of each fork then use a plow clevis...works great. Then the chain won’t slide on the forks

You need a hole in the end of the fork to put a clevis on to hook the chain to.

I use a chain saw on my problem like yours, it just floats away..And my problem becomes somebody’s problem down stream. Yeah , a note after several episodes of this, I don’t cut some of the big ones completely into, the pressure of the water ,next time will break them and have seen the whole jam float away in two piles. Be very careful the danger is unpredictable and good luck!
@HumbleAcres
@HumbleAcres Жыл бұрын
It will probably be my problem later as well. This is the easiest spot to remove them so should just do it now.

Quite a project, you're lucky to have a grapple....my Kubota is too old for attachments like that. I have that same extractor set and it never occurred to me to use it on studs, just rounded nuts.
@HumbleAcres
@HumbleAcres Жыл бұрын
The grapple is by far my most used attachment. The extractor works better on studs then on nuts but will ruin the studs so only good if you aren't going to reuse them.

Hey Jordan good video I like all your videos and I am a outdoor guy I do enjoy your videos on fixing your cars and Toyota but was good to take a break and get back to your outside work. I am sitting up here in Wisconsin with a foot and half of snow so not much to do with my kubota L4060 except to move some snow and that isnt the best with kubota I definitely need chains on tires way to much slipping and sliding without them
@HumbleAcres
@HumbleAcres Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don't have a lot of problems with sliding but chains would be nice.

You should be a little safer on some of that, the jerking out.of the river with the 4runner is a prime example. If that cable would have snapped down close to the tree, the rest may have come rifling out and beheaded you. It would have been much safer to attach your winch on the tractor and pull them up where you were. I know it's not my problem, but I enjoy your program and want you to be alive to do it.
@HumbleAcres

Jordan, I noticed some of the log debris had saw-cut butts --- Who would allow such lengthy timber to remain near a flowing stream ? -- Don't your neighbors have any "down stream environment" scruples ? Stay Safe !

It is my fault. I cut some up stream and didn't have a good way to remove them. I figured this would happen and it is ok.

The right end of the bridge looks like it’s ready to fall in. The support has been washed away, are you going to redo that section of the bridge?
@HumbleAcres
@HumbleAcres Жыл бұрын
I was washed out years ago because of the logs blocking the flow. The bridge isn't actually needed anymore and probably won't be fixed. If anything it would be removed altogether.
