Jordan- you remind me of my younger self-not afraid to tackle anything, and have the ability to figure things out. I did learn my limits in college when I tore into my 1964 Falcon’s transmission to replace gaskets. I removed one bolt too many and the tranny collapsed on itself. The Ford dealer charged me the exorbitant sum of $35.00 to put it back together. I decided then to avoid transmissions. All else has been fair game! Enjoy your videos.

New subscriber here. Was looking for an in-depth video of someone reviving an fj40 but not modifying the design. I really appreciate your approach, very smart processes, and a clean work space. Thank you for the motivation

Somehow when I put that number of holes in a steel plate, I end up with at least one that's off...congrats. Love that skid plate on the oil pan.

Had a FJ40 new 1969 my only aggg was fuel mileage but 1974 I got flooded under water for a week , so at the time I had a good Massey Ferguson 1150 from same flood rear end was full of muddy water but motor was all but dry no water in pistons so 146hp and a 5 speed out of a hj45 and out preformed any Toyota of the day and over drive fixed fuel usage like 30 mpg empty highway speeds . Still great to see the old ridge getting redone 😊

Hi! I started with Diesel Creek, and still watch them every week and then found you. I also did quite a few things I'm rather proud of, including building a house and working on my Volvos. I think I spent more time under them than in them. I used to take a vise and extra ujoints with me as I had to replace them on the road when I heard the rattle. You won't know this but I'll give every one of your videos a like.

Nice job. You really could use a “Glass Bead blasting cabinet” to clean up those parts. I once blasted every part that would fit in the cabinet for a C-Farmall tractor restoration. Makes the parts look like new. You might want to clamp the leg of that vise and tighten the bolts too. 😊

That would be nice. Space is a little bit of an issue at the moment. I think the vise just needs a stronger workbench to mount to. Thanks for watching!

Not sure if you're big into boats, but would love to see you maybe fix up engines in boats. My dad use to love his boats every summer before he passed away. He always took extra good care of them.

Nice work. I’m just completing the mechanical restoration of my 1980 FJ40. Not to nit pick, but you should stop calling your engine parts “Asian”, like the people from Asia, the OE-quality aftermarket parts manufacturer is “Aisin” pronounced like A-SIN, even though they were made in Japan by Asian’s lol.
@HumbleAcres

Thanks I just didn’t know how it was pronounced.

Believe me when I tell you; that 4 peace oil pan gasket is the most frustrating gasket to ever deal with…..🤣🤣🤣 and yes, you use RTV in the corners…
