I can forgive Notch for seeing how a success beyond the deserving wish of a great mind can destroy even the kindest and most creative person to spew degenerate Twitter rants. Wasn’t a fan of this one. It quickly turned into a “notch is bad” rant because he’s got some controversial views that he no longer has problems sharing as his money isn’t going anywhere. This video isn’t really anything but an attempt to slam Notch. If you think not trusting the media, admitting to how you feel like crap, joking around a bit, talking about girls and disagreeing with pride month is bigotry and some sort of unforgivable sin, then that’s just ridiculous. Okay, here's the deal: As you said, Notch has not benefited from Minecraft's development in almost a decade. Just because his name is associated with the product, doesn't mean we need to isolate ourselves from it. If we allow one man's toxic rhetoric to stop us from doing something we love, is that really going to solve anything? I'd argue that it would only validate him. Notch made a phenomenal game. He has already "won" in the sense that he has a big social media presence, and a shit ton of money to roll around in. Suddenly deciding to not play Minecraft will not solve that problem. Second: this is different from the J.K. Rowling situation briefly mentioned because Minecraft doesn't have a specific narrative. Narrative is how most authors (whether they be of games or books) impress their views onto the player/reader. Rowling's political views are obvious in her writing, while Notch 1. has no narrative through which to convey his beliefs and 2. hasn't been involved in the game's development in a decade even if there was.

Pretty well informed video (I've spent a lot of time arguing these things as a whole and at this point I don't think it's even worth arguing against bigotry in the gaming community because a lot of them are too far down the rabbit hole for them to change views), and given some of the reception in the comments here it reminds me of how xanderhal started out doing political content (was solely about gaming, then called out some of notch's bigotry and got some backlash, then doubled down and kept on doing political content)

To those who helped work on this video, thanks for reaffirming the truth, that being that Notch, after gaining too much power at once, fell down the alt-right pipeline; now the naysayers in the comments might state otherwise, it's known that the KZfaq platform in the gaming genre is part of said pipeline, so seeing this video confront it helps me think that it can come back from there and once again have something for everyone
