Hi guys
Today Iam going to share with you guys : Clear Stamping not working/how to prime clear stamper video
I did try couple of methods and shared a fool proof method that works perfectly for me, I purchased a clear stamper head on www.BEAUTYBIGBANG.com and when I tried it did not stamp or pick up the images properly, so I decided I will make this video as it will be helpful for many out there who has the same issue, because when I was new to clear stampers I did buff them watching few videos and my clear stamper was ruined, and another sticky stamper was also damaged due to bugging. And also using acetone on stamper heads will damage them as well.
If your newly purchased clear stamper is not working it means that the stamper need to be primed or prepped
What is priming/preparing a stamper???
Stampers have a shining layer on top which needs to be removed in order to work properly, this shiny layer is also known as sticky or oily layer.
Not all stampers need priming, always clean the stamper head with lint roller or scotch tape , stamp and check, if u are not happy with the pickup then follow the 👇🏻 steps for priming the stamper
Clear stamper not working? How to prime a clear stamper:
1. Take a bowl of like warm water and another bowl of water in room temperature
2. In like warm water add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of any liquid dish wash soap and mix
3. Put the clear stamper in the Luke warm water , let it sit for 10secs then gently rub with your fingers and clean.
4. Then put the stamper head in room temperature water and wash to get rid of the soap.
5. Wipe of the water with paper towel or tissue
6. Stamp and check , few stampers work after this itself
7. If they are still not picking perfectly then..,,,,
8. Take a small piece of cotton , wet it with acetone thinner/nail polish remover and wipe gently couple of times
9. Clean the stamper head with scotch tape/lint roller and then start using . It should work great ....
DONOT DO THIS:
1. DONOT use acetone thinner/nail polish remover as it damages the stamper head
2. DONOT BUFF the stamper head as it tears up or loses its transparency and becomes blurry and cloudy, then it’s no more a clear stamper
3. DONOT use regular polishes as it stains the clear stampers
Hope these steps are helpful if your clear stamper is not working or if you want to prime your clear stamper

Thank you for this tip! Here's another tip for anyone still struggling. When I started stamping, I couldn't pick up an image to save my life! Blue film was off, I was sure I was woking very fast, I tried different scraping directions, rolling vs straight up and down techniques with the stamper, primed the stamper, and tried all different amounts of pressure. Nothing worked! As a last resort, I tried priming my plates! I figured the blue film could be leaving a residue. I used dish soap and a nylon bristled scrub brush and went over the plates for a few seconds each, then rinsed and dried them very well. Shockingly, I could pick up an image the first time and every time after that! Now it's the first thing I do with all my plates. I've never had any damage or scratching from the nylon brush. You only have to do it once if you're struggling to pick up an image. Just clean the polish off the plate with acetone after that. Hope this helps someone else!

I tried this and what the video said, it still doesn’t work, I’ve tried stamping polish regular polish different plates different stampers I’ve now spent well over hundreds of hours and dollars and this doesn’t work

Dish wash soap works the best dear, cos silicon stampers have sticky oily residue on surface, hence Liquid dish wash soap completely removes the oil from the stamper head 💜

So I've tried stamping a few times over the years and it might come out good for the first two nails and then gives trouble after. Initially I didn't know about priming until I checked KZfaq. So I decided to try again with new stampers, did what the instructions said and had the same issues, first one was good and then problems after.. I was wondering if it was due to cleaning the stamping plate with nail polish remover not acetone between uses(no one really mentions what they do in their vids).. Tape won't get into the grooves of the plate. I even tried waiting for the plate to dry from the nail polish remover but didn't help. So I've put away my stampers and plates for years now but I wish someone could help me figure out the problem because seems like a waste to have them there doing nothing. Thanks for the vid btw

Okay I figured out the issue dear , u have to clean the Stamping plate with pure acetone , as nail polish removers have moisturizing oils in them, they hinder the stamping , and few stamping plates are etched deeply, and the Mimute cotton threads get stuck in them at times, so once u finish wiping it with cotton dipped in acetone, use ur finger and gently rub the plate where u wiped in circular motions, this removes all those cotton threads that got stuck in the plate , and Iam sure this should fix the issue, try and let me know

I did the cleaning with soap water and that works great, but there are some parts where it doesn’t pick up great. I skipped the acetone step, I’m also new to stamping so still learning xD. Great video btw

Did u clean it with acetone.?? If yes dry to say u won't get the transparency back dear, try cleaning it with dish wash soap in luke warm water and towel dry it

Try applying a little oil with a cotton pad, it will help a little, but not entirely

Beauty Beam86 I tried washing it with some luke warm water and soap, i have not yet tried it with dish soap. Do you think that makes the difference? I will use the acetone

Yes dear dish wash soap works better than the normal soap, as its best in removing oil & grease, please try that and the acetone as well im sure that has to work

It should! Silicone releases a sort of oil as it ages which can require re-priming to remove

Very nice information....i am watching videos from 5 years about stamping...but never heard that clear jelly stamper does not need to be buff....and I have buff that🤦‍♀️ it is cloudy now really

Tfw hon 💗, glad u found the info helpful, always try the clear stampers first, if u have any pickup issues, only then u need to wash them with liquid dish soap & Luke warm water, never buff the clear stampers, My Beautybigbang, ejiubas, & bornpretty clear stampers worked perfectly without priming or buffing them, tfw hon 💗😘

i want to know something that is i hv regular polishes nd my stamper is not pickng up them shuld i prep my stamper or i hv to buy samping nail polish.... but i dont want to buy nail stamping polish... i also preped my stamper still its no working only one tym its worked

If u r using regular polish make sure it's a bit thick in consistency, if it's tin it won't pick up well, once u prime the stamper it has to work well, don't use fast dry nail polishes for stamping, stamping polishes work best , but few normal polishes work too

Not necessary dear, once u prime it that would be enough . May I know whether u r using stamping polish ? R regular polish ?

Cos regular polishes won't work of they are too runny in consistency, it has to be a bit thick in consistency to stamp

Okay few polishes dry quick before u pick up , try with a regular polish and check whether the stamper picks dear , and try a different stamping plate too , as it's pocking at times I guess the issue must be with the stamping polish r , Few tips: 1.After applying the polish on the image swipe only twice , 2.Try different techniques to pick up , one is rolling technique and the other is a quick press with slight pressure on the image 3.also few stamping plates while u clean them with acetone and cotton the cotton gets stuck in the images,so clean the plate properly ,I had this issues with AliExpress stamping plates Try and let me know dear

So sorry to hear that , just follow these steps dear Apply adequate polish on the image , and scrape only twice Donot take too much time once u scrape it, keep ur stamper handy and be as gently as u can and try rolling technique Ex : from left to right / or from up to down like that U just need to make sure the stamper head touches the stamping plate , donot put much force Hope this helps If that doesn't work , help me with ur other ig r email so that I can send a short video

Did everything you shown even changing Polish but its still not working, and I cleaned the stamp tray with hot water and washing up liquid..

U need to clean it thoroughly with pure acetone and cotton... And don't scrape more than twice once u apply the polish on the image, roll ur stamper gently from side to side r up to down... Donot press the stamper too much it will not pick the image... try these tips that should fix the issue

No o don't recommend that dear, hmmm try hand wash r any liquid soap

Dish wash powder will scratch ur stamper head badly, try getting a small sachet of dish wash liquid as that works wonders in removing the sticky layer/oils on the stamper Head

I know this video is old but what do I do if I stamp with a stamper, it works fine, then I go to stamp the other nail with the same stamp and the second time around it won't work. It suddenly won't pick up any polish so I tried my other three stampers and nothing. So I cleaned the plate and tried again and still nothing.

as it was fine the first time i guess u need to clean up the plate well, few design etchings are so deep they need to be cleaned properly, also use 100% acetone thinner to clean the plates as the acetone free nail polish removers have moisture it hinders the pickup of the stamper , hope this helps ;)

@@BeautyBeam86 thanx for trying to help but I did that with cotton and then with a toothbrush with pure acetone and still nothing. And to b totally honest it happened with every design on the plate. They worked perfect one time then never again. I even cleaned the stamper in warm water with soap. The plates themselves r so clean they almost look brand new. I've tried it with a light touch, a heavier touch, rolling the stamper over the image, putting the stamper straight down on the image, different stamping polishes, regular polish, nothing works. I literally sat for almost 6 hours yesterday doing everything I could think of. Nothing. I have 4 different stampers and none of them worked but the stampers worked on other plates.

Karen Salveson may I know whether they are branded plates or did u buy them from aliexpress ? Cos few non branded plates from aliexpress do have this problem as the etching was not so good on the plates, only Normal squishy old stampers work , try them out , cos as u r cleaning the plate thoroughly & the stampers work with other plates , issue must b with the plate

Have u primed the stamper as shown and even after that it doesn't work? If yes try a regular polish that's a bit thick in consistency and Once u apply polish on the Stamping plate only scrape the polish twice, as regular polishes dry pretty quick Donot press the stamper too hard on the plate, just roll the stamper head gently from top to bottom r from side to side , this helps in picking the image Try these steps and lete know dear

If u use acetone or nail polish remover too much on the silicon Stamper head, it will become blur and loose its transparency, and the Stamper head also tears off because of acetone

May i know whether u r using stamping polish r regular polish to stamp ? And if u r using a non stamping polish the polish need to be a bit thick in consistency and not too runny And once u apply the polish on the plate scrape it only twice , then try loving it up with stamper Donot press the stamper too hard, a gently rolling motion is enough to pick the image , if u press the stamper too hard it will not pick the image And once u scrape , be as quick as possible to pick the image else the polish dries on the stamping plate Finally once u pick the image clean theplate with cotton and pure acetone, acetone with moisturizing properties should not be used for cleaning stamping plates as the moisture will make it slippery Some times the cotton threads might get stuck in the stamping plate, so once u clean with acetone and cotton, just wipe the plate with bare fingers to take off the fine cotton strands that get caught in the plate Hope these points will be helpful in trouble shooting the issues u r facing with stamping, Try these and still if it doesn't work out pls let me know

S acetone tends to break the silicon stamper head, most of the stamper heads work after priming as shown in the video , if it's still not picking up perfectly, then used a quick wipe with acetone & lint free wipe r cotton, so that it takes out the oil residue on the stamper head . Regular usage of acetone on clear r silicon stampers definetly ruin it

All the steps necessary dear, the dish wash soap and Luke warm water really helps in removing the oils on the stamper head

U can clean that with pure acetone, don't use moisture based acetone as it will hinder your stamping process , pure acetone for cleaning the stamping plate is best

If u slice it the surface will not be smooth, and hence u will not be able to pick up the image properly.. even if u turn it and use it as the other side will be flat it will be a bit hard to pick the images, and even from the other side it will still be blurry ...

Sure... Apply the stamping gel polish on the image of the stamping plate and scrape with the scraper for 4 to 5 times then press the stamper head gently, like feather touch and pick the image, If u put too much pressure in picking the image, the image becomes blurry, as gel polish doesn't set thik u cure it . . If u have any doubts pls ask, will be glad to clarify 😍

My pleasure dear, also try these tips 1. If u are using a regular polish, scrape only twice after applying polish on stamping image, 2. Donot press the stamper head hardly on the image to pick up, U need to gently / or very lightly press it on the image r try rolling it gentle from top to bottom r from left to right and so on This method helps in picking the image flawlessly 3. Once u scrape the excess polish from the image , immediately use the stamper to pick the image, if u r doing slowly there is a chance the polish dries up in the image and ur stamper doesn't pick it 4. Clean the Stamping plate thoroughly after every use with acetone and a piece of cotton r cotton pad, After u wipe it clean, also use ur fingers and gently rub in circular motion on the cleant image, at times the cotton gets stuck in the image , so there are chances u will get thin threads of remaining cotton that stuck in the image , which prevents u get crisp image Iam sure these tips will be helpful And last but not least , stamping polishes work better than regular ones Donot use quick dry r fast drying polishes for stamping, they donot work

1.Try with polish that is a bit thick 2. If the polish dries too quick it won't pick up 3. Clean the stamping plate well , so that the dried up polish doesn't get struck in the design 4. Finally try wiping the stamper head with the acetone dipped cotton/wipe with 3-4 wipes
