For future reference you strip the top soil out of the hole then add your fill dirt and cover with the good topsoil. That’s the correct way to do it on a farm where you need hood soil to grow product. Including grass corn vegetables what ever.

Learnt to drive an excavator as a teen, 25 years later I still remember the actions of the levers despite not having done it since. Its just one of those things that sticks once you learn, like riding a bike.

Why didn't you take the good soil out of the hollow in the field first before you tipped the rubbish then you could put your good soik back on top afterwards?!

Interesting Tom you certainly learn quick, on handling that digger. Take it that was filmed over a few days, as Ginger Warrior not on at start, but n the last bit. He gives you all his knowledge he has. Hope he enjoyed the break, bot knowing him he worried all the time about you and the farm. How is the miden coming on not heard since the little mishap with the corner.

My dad was a digger driver 40 + years experience, we got a 2.7 ton machine here on the farm I love using it, but I would never be as good as my dad. in fact when he retired, the boss who he worked for sold his 360 digger because he did not want any one wrecking it.

Hi Tom, little tip when you are driving a 360. Turn the engine speed down a little, as the machine will do everything slower and give you more time to react if something is going wrong and always turn towards what you can see, so the cab is on the left of the machine so if you swing left you are then able to look at what your machine is swinging towards. .😉

Love any video when I see your cows. My husband always complains about dips in the lawn so I can imagine what it is like cutting a huge field with a dip. Great video. Shows how much a farmer has to know in order to survive. You do it all for your girls. Love it.

Green pasture fresh new grass is better for the cows and the barnyard. And the best is you get to wash the car again. Real nice wanted to see how it would grow.

A good job done and great to see the grass seeds worked. Sometimes the wife just doesn’t understand 😂 we have a family friend that owns plant machines. I can cope with a mini digger. But not the JCB as the handles are in a different layout, it is definitely an art.

That’s great those seeds worked so well. If you let 3rd cut go to seed from time to time, would that be beneficial to fill out the fields? I noticed in the background you re-set some items 🤔. Looking forward to an update on that project. Will be interesting to see the improvement in that. I’m also very curious about that “secret” project as well. Cheers Ian 🇨🇦

It's a fantastic thing to see the improvements you have made in such a short period of time Tom and all Each of the people that work "with you" have their own strengths Everyone is supporting you and it's great to now have x4 of you who are very competent tractor drivers The new concrete has paid for itself already with how easy it is for cleanup It still amazes us all that your cows just chill out regarding what's happening and really don't bother when a tractor goes past After 30+ years it was time to reuse all that fantastic topsoil to fix the bump - waste not when it can clearly be useful not just wasted and carted elsewhere Congratulations for yet another fantastic video showing us all how it can be done with a little planning :)

Here is Spain normally we can get 2 or 3 cuts of hay, but it dies off in summer so we let the final cut go to seed and it naturally reseeds the field (lightly power harrowing it in) and starts growing when the temperate drops. If we need to seed new fields we combine the last cut so we are generally always using our own seed. Great video as always and enjoy seeing the progress you're all making. Thanks for sharing 👍

Loading soil like that is great way to learn to use a digger. Gives you a feel for the controls.
