You were firing on all cylinders today (as usual),,the muck spreading music was great, the grass was wonderful as was the photography, your Dad was in great spirits and the little boy is clearly going to make a wonderful KZfaq. I wish I could shop at your farm but I live in Devon and a daily run might be a stretch too far.

So what you were trying to say at the end was the SDF Hurlimanns were up to the task, old and new. I think the one big advantage box muck/solid manure has is the sheer amount of microbes it has in it compared to slurry. We use turkey manure, horse manure and mushroom compost. No urea or synthetic ferts. The occasional bit of trace elements and lime. Our cows are out year round.

If you want to compare how much they both use in diesel, you should keep to the same max speed. If you're going faster I can imagine it using more... The drone shots are amazing again Tom... Everything looks really nice..fantastic video again
@bakfietsman69
@bakfietsman69 Жыл бұрын
the issue is that in the real world when you use them, you will drive faster. It's not really about what tractor uses more diesel doing the same speeds and everything, but more about how much diesel they use for a certain job, and how long that job takes them.

Yep, the new emissions equipped engines use more fuel. I would say some is the increased fuel consumption was from the tractor being more powerful, but the new emissions equipment was a factor.

The new Hurlimann may have used 20ish percent more fuel, but it's also 30% more powerful, so in terms of hp per litre burned, it's basically the same.

If both tractors are doing the same amount of work then they have both used the same amount of power. The fact that one is capable of generating more power is irrelevant because the extra power wasn't needed for this job. So the older tractor is more economical.

Hi Tom just a tip, when you can see your rotors put your back door down to the top of the dung, if you have any stones in it they’ll fly forward to the tractor if your doors always up. A lesson learnt from many people making that mistake!

Driving at top speed with the new Hurliman (50k) will have contributed easily 6% of those 12% higher fuel usage. Try again and make sure both run the job at the same speed. Later you can decide you want to do things faster and spend the extra fuel for that, but with fuel prices on the rise you might want to restrain yourself. And the older Hurliman will help you then 😉

As you know, the bigger the horse power, the more wound up the pump is. If its only like 30hp different, they just wind up the pump. So they use more. We had a yard loader a 4610. It used a rank of diesel a month. 😂😂

Good video. I wish some of the keyboard worries know it alls would watch your and Ollys videos, they my learn something. Where the bad spread happened may need the chain harrows to break it up later? For the emissions the new engines will use more fuel to get the emissions down, silly I know.

That steam!!! I used to run compost bins and if you put a bag or two of horse manure in it ( old as possible because of worming tablets) and the highest temp I reached was nearly 80c . Warm thing to do on a winters day was to turn the compost. Not cus of the compost heat it is just damn hard work.

The way you do the process by spreading the muck is probably the best way to recycle waste for the environment, natural fertilizer. That would help a vegetable garden, then it would be even more green space for the environment. I definitely think you’re planning for the future, you keep making the right decisions. Always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸
