I wish they would put decent screens on phones, being able to see who is calling when you are not directly in front of it. It doesn't have to be 4k retina or what ever marketing term but the viewing angles can be so much better than the late 90's tech we are seeing in them at the moment.

Doyou have a video on how to setup a phone in your home from scratch? Do these phones work in the Europe? Ireland/UK? Do you have to subscribe to a SIP service or phone service? I assume so to make outside calls.

Designed with community input in mind. I wonder if they are just OEM branded phones just like Sangoma S and Dect series.

Today I received 3 of the ClearlyIp phones. I can't help but feel I'm on the bleeding edge here & I'm in over my head. I don't know enough about FreePbx & I can't seem to find much direction on the ClearlyIp site. Any suggestions on where I can start? I've added the ClearlyIP gizmo to FreePbx & registered with them for autoconfig but.... It's all a little much for me right now. I do have a Sangoma phone up & running with a SipStation account. I really do like the phones & they sound like the way to go.

Maybe it was because it was 2:00 AM or maybe it's all them firewalls & switches I'm playing with but putting the phones on the same subnet as the server sure does help. Oh, having the right password in the auto provision does too. Looking forward to your ClearlyIp video.

They do not run FreePBX Phone Apps - they are building their own set of apps.

@@CrosstalkSolutions this looks like the same hardware sangoma is using for the PBXact 25/40 & FreePBX 40, Besides cost is there any real advantage to clearlyip?

The biggest advantage in my eyes is the innovation they're bringing to the industry - especially when it comes to app development and e911. There are new laws in the US surrounding E911 that go into effect in February. ClearlyIP has already cracked the code on these new laws - I have not heard a peep from any other vendors or trunking providers about it.

I really don't want to say anything bad about Tony Lewis (whom I really really respect), but I'm still wondering what Clearly IP is really is about. This looks like a simple "let's copy 1:1 what Sangoma is doing" and I don't really see any advantage or a value-add in this. And it might even threaten to split the FreePBX community in the future? Mostly I think it's a weird and unnecessary addition to the market though. The features you list are all 100% standard and absolutely NOTHING is special about these phones.

@@CrosstalkSolutions I would LOVE to be wrong... But I just don't see what ClearlyIP offers that goes beyond a Sangoma Clone. And this should not be something you are only told if you ask around... This should be somewhere on the website.

I'm not sure which software you're referring to - FreePBX? Yes - you can virtualize FreePBX.

@@CrosstalkSolutions My mistake Chris, bot enough coffee today, The Cleary IP software. In a small office it's be nice to be able to virtualize it and add phones. Most of our clients don't have enough phones to even need the dedicated hardware.

@@davidallen2211 Hey David. Virtualizing FreePBX has it's caveats but it works. It is better if you have a spare computer you can repurpose. Dedicated hardware is always the best choice in my view. I've been working with the software about 14 years (started with the fork called Trixbox back in 2004). I'm sure the folks at ClearlyIP are rebranding FreePBX (their logos instead of Sangoma), but their site doesn't yet have the the actual software (I was just looking a a little while ago). So you can get FreePBX from freepbx.org. Best of luck to you sir. The system is amazing to work with, and Chris has the most in depth and most accurate videos on the Net.

Sangoma phones are already rebrand so these may have come from same factory or one that is near original one.

This is not your contract so you can't sell any of the products to the government Poly doesn't past trade agreements act so you can't sell it to the government anyway

ClearlyIP Server with pfSense?

Yes. You have to open PJSIP http(s) ports on pfSense so there is not an issue. Also you have to open SIP RTP port ranges (10000-20000) and use UDP as the transport. Keep in mind that this is a FreePBX distro which you can use on basically any computer you have. ClearlyIP's site does not have their branded distro of FreePBX on their site as of now, but you can just download from freepbx.org.

$600+ for a FreePBX server is obscene. You can run it virtual or buy an Intel NUC from Newegg for $149.99; it also doesn't look like a cheap Chinese aluminum mass-produced mini PC with a silkscreen on it. Or you could just go to Aliexpress and buy the pretty much exact same piece of hardware for $100 bucks, worried about quality, just buy 6 of them, it's still cheaper than Clearly.

Warranty? Support? Tested? Does the average SMB owner know how to build and manage a PBX? Of course DIY is cheaper, but you have to have the time and know-how; both things that have a $$$ amount to them.

Just read that that FreePBX is now banning the ClearlyIP module. Good !!! You should not have associated yourself with these grifters from clearlyip. Chris. I hope the money was worth it?
