This is Sara’s first mock test. Her driving test was 2 weeks after this mock test. Sara was driving in a new car in a new area!
She generally had good control over her vehicle but sometimes drives a little too fast on narrow roads. Sara made a lot of mistakes during this mock test but she was a lot more aware of how to continue to improve her driving leading upto there real driving test

Same here I passed first time with just 2 minors, for me the only manoeuvre was just stop on the right and reverse 2 car lengths and loads of stop on the lefts. I wasn't given any difficult junctions, so overall it was a really easy test though I expected for it to be a really hard test. I was prepared for the hard junctions and everything in my test routes, but I guess I'm lucky enough to be given an easy test route. Mine was the automatic test tho so I have an automatic license now. Maybe might upgrade to manual if I get bored enough.

Clearly a completely lack of confidence. That’s the dangerous part. In time that will get better with experience. I find when I drive in Europe, the drivers there are overly aggressive. When I drove in London for the first time , I noticed how the majority of people would “nudge” their way through traffic making way too many assumptions and not anticipating the potential acts of another. In this video, I saw scooters or motorcycles with the L placard and yet they drove like idiots being way too confident. I find in general the driving public to be overly agressive no matter where you drive. Just this ridiculous need to get there as quickly as possible. In the aviation world, if we took that approach, we would have a lot more deaths. Luckily, as pilots, we police ourselves and at least make an attempt to follow the rules. This is exactly why there will not be flying cars for a while lol.

I'm a scooter rider. I've made all my mistakes on the road. I'm ready to branch out to a car soon. Automatic though. Gears are too confusing. I feel my biggest problem will be getting used to a bigger vehicle. I was massively panicking my first time on the road on a scooter lmao. My dad rode behind me in his car first few times on the road. He would shield my right side for people stupidly overtaking. Starting small and having a supportive family is one of the most important thing in my opinion. I'll be joining y'all with a car soon aha.

I feel like 'letting go of the steering wheel' AKA loosely holding it so it can slide back into center position, is a lot safer than feeding the wheel. Feeding the wheel is dangerous given you cannot steer into more heavy corners easily, it's not smooth at all and goes in shocks a lot. There's a higher chance you'll go wide, especially in tight turns. Therefore, progressive steering input whilst crossing your arms when going into a corner and 'letting go' when stopping your turning is a lot safer imo. Since you're still holding the wheel, you can grab tighter and adjust to anything instantly, with your hands already being in the optimal 9 & 3 position.
@atcampbell123
@atcampbell123 2 жыл бұрын
If you are going wide by feeding the wheel then you are taking the corner too quickly. Letting the wheel go back on its own is dangerous as you have no control over it. I think you need to re-evaluate your attitude to safe driving.

Not on it, not past it, before it. I may also be hyper aware of them because my dad was someone who painted them for many years. He did a lot of road work lines and Peking lot lines

Shifting down to come to a complete stop at a red light is unnecessary anyway and I think most driving schools handle it the way that the learner has to keep their foot on the clutch to be able to react quicker to getting a green light or similar.

HOLD UP the fact that this person is driving a MANUAL transmission just shows how much more skill this person actually has when initially learning, having to worry about not rolling backwards down a hill or trying to have a fast yet smooth start from a stop light while worrying about other traffic, takes much different skill than a driver with an automatic transmission

I dont know about UK, but here in Bosnia, not yielding to pedestrians at the roundabout (timestamp 15:08) is automatic fail of the test (negative 100 points). Law regarding roundabout traffic here states yield to pedestrians first, then yield to traffic inside roundabout, and only then you can enter. And we are not required to use indicators when we enter, only when we need to indicate our exit. Also I'd teach candidates how to steer hand over hand when they steer. Cranking the steering wheel while holding hands 9-3 line is inefficient i.e. you cannot steer fast enough in tight turns.

Question from the states: Is there any initiative to widen your roads or change the way people are allowed to park? Do you guys notice the difficulty in driving when the roads have cars parked on boths sides and the lanes are blocked enough that it's effectively a one lane road with traffic coming from both sides? Or is it second nature by now? Also, what do you do if you meet up with someone going th opposite way in a street with only the middle open? Who gives way?
