I've always wanted to try a set of rtx's. I've been playing mack daddy 4s for a long time. I love them. But I have always liked Cleveland wedges. They would be my 1a 1b wedges. I totally agree! I have a 53 bent to 52, 56, 60 and 64 in the original 588 RTG and a low bounce 588 BECU 60...to mix and match according to conditions. In my opinion they were the best wedges ever made. And since they're no longer conforming I don't hesitate to resharpen the grooves every couple of years. I also have a set of raw Spin Milled Vokey's in 48, 52, and 58...but they rarely make it into the bag.

Very interesting. Would have loved to have seen the robot test with one of their old wedges and the improvement gained with the new wedge. I would have never thought about the higher launch and coming up shorter due to wet. I would have expected a lower spin and therefore it might go further or go the same but not stop as quick. #eyeopening #robotmytest

I struggle with this new terminology etc, wedges have not improved over the years, they either fit your eye or they dont, but having looked at some of the wedges at sawgrass in the roll of honour from 20 years ago, new wedge "technology" is just bluff in my opinion. I like Vokeys or Clevelands, now the ping glides look good, but the performance of these comes through the ability of the player.

Mark doesn’t really need a chipper. I think he keeps it in the bag more to prove a point about not letting ego get in the way. If you look at his club choices in the past, he used more bladed clubs but in the last few years he has gone towards more game improvement clubs. He is a great player but knows he can help more of his audience by playing more forgiving clubs so I would bet the Crossy wedge stays in the bag as long as he has room for it.

i'm debating whether to get the RTX Zipcore (last year's model) vs the RTX6, is there a big difference in terms of play? I don't really see any new technology except for the adjustment in MOI. Any recommendations out there?
@Kylegolfs94
@Kylegolfs94 Жыл бұрын
I am looking at the same thing and there is a couple things. The leading edges change dynamically based on the bounce so low will be sharper and more square and higher will be rounder and more friendly. Also they added the hydrophobic tech so that these new wedges retain spin far more when there is wet conditions. The zips are 160 each canadian and the RTX 6 are 220. I am debating whether or not that stuff is worth the extra 60 dollars. (To be fair it might feel nicer to have the newer RTX 6 for the next couple seasons than a 5 year old wedge after a couple more years). I am leaning RTX 6 54 Full and 58 Mid

I don't put much faith into the robot test, hitting a wedge off a tee is not the same as compressing it off the turf, the spin and ball fight changes dramatically. I do like those wedges though, I may call my guy at Cleveland and pick up a set.

For the purpose / point of this vid a text should have been added that mark meant to say 2000. Secondly since there is no comparison to the previous model I still have no clue if the new tech actually improved the wet spin performance… so the robot section adds ZERO value
