I may be the lone voice of dissent with my ⭐⭐ Review for Till The Stars Come Down at the National Theatre's Dorfman.
Till The Stars Come Down is the latest play by Beth Steel to be set in an old coal-mining town, after Wonderland & The House Of Shades. This time it's the events of a wedding day that bring a family together... before pushing them apart.
With a strong, female-led cast and creative team, this is an easy watch, with some good performances, and a few laughs.
But the soap opera list of themes it tries to fit in make it difficult to know what it's really meant to be about. It's a bit of a mess truth be told.
