A great singer and superb ukulele player, this is possibly the last interview Edwards gave before he died in 1971.
Edwards' career had long since dimmed by the time of this interview and Richard Lamparski was interviewing Edwards as one of the forgotten stars for his book 'Whatever Happened to...'
The interview focuses on people behind the scenes in the Hollywood music industry during Edwards' heyday.
Cliff talks about businessmen, industry figures and people he had met along the way during his career.
The interview is on a CD which is part of a boxed set of 4 which comes up for sale on Ebay from time to time. Cost is approx $40. Most of the material on these CD's is radio broadcasts during the 1930's and 40's when Edwards had his own radio show.

I've always treasured the stars of the 20's-60's. Not only was it the golden age of animation, film and in some cases music, it featured some of the most talented storytellers of all time. What a classic artist. My favorite actors from this time period is Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Edmund Gwenn, Josephine Hull, Jean Adair, Judy Garland, Shirley Temple, Mickey Rooney and so many others! It's just a great period! The funniest and most talented period!!!

A beautiful and tragic man with a golden talent. Isn't it always the way. Depression wasn't worth treating in his time and it should have been.

Oh boy, what a missed opportunity this was. "What car did you drive"?! Anyway, an invaluable document for all us Cliff Edwards fans! Thanks for posting.

I was just about to post on this. SO MUCH he could have asked this genius and he rushed the interview and wasted what little time he had asking about car models.

God bless his soul. I'm a fan of Cliff. I made a layout of an animation clip I wanna work on of Jiminy Cricket singing Cliff's song 'Singing in the Rain.'

Ok this goes out to musicians that might have a complete lyriic and chord sheet music of the song when you wish upon a star. The second bridge (When a Star is falling) is what I am curious about. Thanks

According to my dad, he was my great uncle. I have never verified it, but my dad certainly has a singing voice, and I have one as well so who know?
