Nice. I used a Clifford mild cam in my 261 Chev, along with dual stock carbs and headers. Used in in my 52 Chev l/2Ton. Ran pretty well for a long time.

Would I have loved that 235 in my 57 Chevy 210 back in the day. The norm was to yank the stovebolt for a small-block.

That's Bob Goodwin of Goodwin Racing in Wildomar California, building and tuning those Sixes. I wonder if he's still kickin' around. He started working at a Chevy dealer in Los Angeles Co. in 1952. He and his son Bobby Jr. are the Library of Congress on vintage race motors.

I have a 235 I'm working on right now and id love for it sound like this. What else was done to it other than the intake and carbs? Cam? Bored? Crank?

What kind of hp can you get with the ford 300 rebuild kit with all the machine shop work done and the twin Weber fuel delivery system with headers? Also is 25mpg possible like mentioned?

One great American 6 cylinder to have in, sar, a hot rod chassis would be the Pontiac ohc 6. That was a puller in its own right back then. And would be now with the right stuff, if you could find all of it and the engine. I have a 1967 mustang with a 200 c.I. 6 and I wouldn’t trade it for any v8. It’s just so different from the everyday setup, Ford v8, Chevy LS whatever, etc.

I have a 292 with your dual-Weber intake, Clifford cam (272 duration, i think?), milled head, modern ignition, headers, Clifford oversized valves. Couple of questions: 1. The Webers are 32/36. Is that enough, or do I need 38/38s? 2. Any guesses on how much power it should make once it's all set up and adjusted?

Bought a jeep scrambler 81 Last summer. It's got your intake manifold and a 4 barrel Holly. Not happy with it cause it runs sluggish and has excessive crank case pressure n blows oil out the valve cover which is yours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. AJ
@mikegross38006 жыл бұрын
Assuming a properly operating PCV system is in place, excessive crankcase pressure and blow by is normally associated with ring wear. Rings worn enough to cause the type of blow-by you're describing would also be responsible for a loss of compression, which would cause the engine to run sluggishly. I'm not in anybody's corner here, but it seems unfair to blame a lack of performance on parts installed when the engine has been described by yourself as being in poor mechanical condition. A trip to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis would pinpoint the problem.

It amazes me how people manage to make power out of an engine that's short a few main bearing journals. You'd think the crank would snap right in half.
@adriantomlin29023 жыл бұрын
Nope!! These engines have 6 main bearings.

it looks to me like there is a vacuum pipe that's open below the front carb. I'm not a big fan of those dual progressive Webers.

No thats for water there is 1 in the back as well. On the old manifold the used the exhaust to heat the manifold. New after market manifold you cant

Engine sounds good when it wants to run. Personally I would go with 6 straight in injectors or 2 Holley 2 barrels with a manual choke.

had a Ford with a 300 in it about the Clifford intake went to his shop 3 times they couldn't get it right intake was warped he just give me a new set of gaskets and send me on my way not happy with them
@cliffordperformance60096 жыл бұрын
we did what we could. your machanic is not doing the job right, the intake is not warped or we would have replaced it for you, like we have done for many others if they had problems. and yes we gave you multiple free gaskets being nice.

I've had really bad luck with clifford check your parts when they show up. He sent me a set of lifters that were not the same length. Also 2 of the valve seats fell out of the head when i opened the box. Parts are junk and he,s a dick to deal with.
