I have pent my life on the wild side locked up and locked up again trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not a bad man, i just never liked authority on matters that didn't agree with me. And all of you are going to agree with this someday.

Lost my dad from cocaine laced fentanyl in August, he struggled with addiction my whole life. Using, In and out of jail and prison. I love him tremendously regardless unconditionally. Growing up it was just us. Him and me. This was the last song we ever listened to together, I put it on and told him it was his song. He cried. I used with him as a teenager, but I have been clean 16 years now. I stopped the cycle.

Story of my life!!! 20 months and 3 days sober, thank God for the love of a woman to get my head out of my ass. I did indeed squander my chance with her but her influence saved my life! Plenty of regrets but damn it feels good to be sober. ! To all who struggle, it isn't easy but its worth it. !

This song hit home so hard that I cry every time I listen to it. I'm a recovering meth addict, clean just 6 months. It cost me my children, my marriage, my career as a nurse and everything else that I held dear. If you're a recovering addict, you're NOT alone!! By God's hand and the love of my children I am still alive.

I have done cocaine many times in a church parking lot in between my home and my friends lake front home he had at 18 years of age. We always stopped there to get our fill before we walked into his lake house where the party was waiting. Thank God I got away from the coke thatedto smoking crack snorting lines while waiting to hit the pipe again and using oxycontin as a crutch in between buying my cocaine.

I love the comments reminds me of how I used to be. Never had probation went straight to prison at 24 1st case 9 years for an OZ. Long road 17 years of my adult life in prison. I’m not big on using the words clean, sober for myself. I changed my life for 13 years and well, hit me by surprise. I want to be like all of you again. I read the comments to think harder about where my life is right now. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get back on track. I’m in a bad way, pretty broken. Too much has happened this past 6 years. I’m trying to make sense of it all. I will get it together again, I’ve got to. I have 2 Harleys collecting dust. I just want to wake up one day and not hurt so much. Thanks for listening

Adonai has kept you in this world. Sometimes we have to go through struggles and hardship. I have found almost all of us that have struggled with addiction is because we have been battling something broken inside of us. With Elohim, our creator. We can heal and our God needs us to help each other. That's why we are still here. After I lost my Dad, husband and sister in nine months, all I did was pray for God to let me go to sleep and never wake up. That wasn't His plan. We have to lay it at His feet. He has a plan for everyone of us. It's His will not ours. He will reveal that plan to you. You are so very important, that's why He created you. Lean on Him. I blamed myself for my husband's death. I couldn't except that he overdosed and I started doing meth at 45. I recently got out of prison, was down for a year. I've been sober for 15 months. It's wonderful, I'm high on life because I forgave myself and quit blaming myself. The key ...learn how to love yourself. He created you and that means you are precious. My prayers to you for healing.

I listen to this song everyday to remind me of everything that I lost while using. I had a family a business and a comfortable living.. I passed it all away until I was homeless for 3 years. Then I heard this song I'm coming up a have an apartment, a car, and I'm building a new business that has been strong for a year now. I used to say you don't have to be perfect to be a perfect solution, you just have to show up. I'm glad I showed up. The perfect solution wasn't me, it was Jamey Johnson with this song and the man will never know it. So show up. You may not ever know but you are someone's perfect solutions. Thanks for the personal stories it makes the day start off great knowing there are so many of us getting through the day together. Keep showing up and keep crushing your demons.

I cried at least the first 10 times i listened to this song. It hit home hard. That phrase is too true, that life will absolutely cost you everything and I do mean everything. For me it was Opana, Fentanyl, and Adderall for 10 years, but March 22nd will be 3 years since I have done a pill and it feels awesome to be able to say that!

My son was a heroin addict for years and OD and almost died 2 times. So I can relate in a small way to what you went through... The public is stupid about this stuff. They think all you have to do is have enough willpower and you are done. And maybe you did... good for you. But my son required rehad…. otherwise he would be dead. Willpower is part, but it is much bigger than just willpower. I am proud of you Jesse. Don't ever fuck with drugs EVEN a single time or the monkey will be back. The only outcome of these drugs is misery and eventually death. Seriously don't even experiment for a single time. You are sober now, stay sober. DONT FUCK WITH FENTANYL LACED HEROIN EVER AGAIN. GOD BLESS

On November 18th 2021 marked 2 years clean and sober. My heroin addiction caused a lot of damage to my family and closest friends, and caused me to miss out on chasing my dreams. None of that matters though, because I’m still alive even though I shouldn’t be, and i can turn that into something better than any dream i ever had. Sobriety has changed my life and I’m thankful that I was one of the lucky ones to make it out alive. Especially with all the fentanyl stuff going around these days. Stay strong my friends!! I know it’s a hell of a battle, but together I know that we’re all capable of doing it.

This song defines my past life. 14 years ago I would do any drug available. Meth was my demon and my lord did it own me. I lied, I stole and I hurt whoever I had to just to get my next high. I lost family I lost friends I lost EVERYTHING. Now after 14 years I have tried my best to make amends and fix everything and I am honestly still working at it. 14 years sober, nearly 13 married. It felt impossible to go sober and fix everything but I'm working at it. All the addicts out there, you are loved and you CAN do it.

Mr Sunshines you’re not living up to your username much bud. We all have our own battles man. It’s really pathetic how you decide to dog on somebody who you don’t even know or know what they been through. But yeah this was three years ago who gives a damn

This video was filmed in Iowa. Look at the license plate on the truck. That's a real motel and Des Moines police officers. The venue is the Iowa State Fairgrounds. And yes, that's real Iowa corn.

I heard this for the first time today, after a 25 year nightmare Ive been clean now for over 10 years. I am so grateful that my mother was able to see it before she passed. I am 63 now but she got to see me clean for 8 years . I regret all the years I threw away, along with everything else i threw away. The stuff is not important, its only STUFF. The years are the only thing I can never get back, that and my family,

He's never been underrated , he was born in 1939 ,so he's from a time and a way of thinking , he's 79 years old . He was to out spoken and he was basically Black balled , But there has never been a question of his greatness .

I chose to deal with my problems in unhealthy ways, and because of that I lived most of this song. And it took losing what meant the most for me to wake up. Friends it's not worth it and there's a better way. Change now before you lose everything and everyone. Because you will, it's not a matter of if but when. You'll do and say things that you're not normally capable of. Some you won't even remember. And it will be those hazy moments that pushes it to far. Go home to her and tell her you love her, because eventually one day when you do go home, she won't be there. And there'll be nothing you can do to get her to come back.

I’ve been an outlaw biker since 1983, so needless to say, this songs message is a strong one for me. I changed that part a long time ago. I’m 57 now, get up at 4, instead of going to bed at 4. Thanks Jamie, Very meaningful song

Jamey Johnson is the 20th century outlaw sound and until he becomes mainstream with the SAME EXACT style/sound, I won't believe in the Nashville music industry. Point blank is that the modern day outlaw sound/lifestyle seems to be shunned for some ungodly reason 😥💯💯
