India is a 1987 Indian superhero movie in the Hindi language that was written and directed by Salim-Javed. It was their final joint effort before they split up, and it was co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor under the former's production company, Narsimha Enterprises.
Even though the movie's original trailer claims that "Mogambo" means "the Greatest," the word "Mogambo" actually has no significance. The title was created by producer Sam Zimbalist by changing the name of the Mocambo, a well-known Hollywood nightclub.

Arun Verma (Anil Kapoor), a modest musician and philanthropist, is given a cloaking technology that makes him invisible in the movie, which also stars Sridevi and Amrish Puri. Boney Kapoor approached Kapur about directing another movie with similar themes after seeing his earlier effort, Masoom, a 1983 family drama about kids. Beginning in July 1985 and lasting 350 days, Baba Azmi oversaw the principal photography in Srinagar, Mumbai, and other Indian cities. The soundtrack was created by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and Akhtar authored the lyrics. Waman Bhonsle and Gurudutt Shirali worked together to edit it once the filming was finished, while Peter Pereira finished the visual effects.
Mr. India was made public on May 25, 1987. It became a financial success, earning the most money at the Indian box office for the entire year.A worldwide success in China, it made 100 million (US$7.72 million) against a budget of 38 million (US$2.93 million). It earned a lot of praise from contemporaneous and modern critics, with the majority of them praising Anil Kapoor and Sridevi's performances. At the 58th Filmfare Awards in 2013, Sridevi received the Special Award.
A milestone in Hindi cinema for its rarely seen superhero genre, Mr. India was a breakthrough for its director and cast members and was followed by other Indian films in succeeding years. Plot
Mogambo is a thief who wants to rule India. He keeps an eye on all the wrongdoing carried out by his minions from his secret island. His catchphrases, "Mogambo khush hua" ("Mogambo is pleased") and "Hail Mogambo!" (which are uttered by his followers), demonstrate his total control over his followers. Arun, on the other hand, is a street violinist and philanthropist who employs a cook he calls "Calendar" to care for ten orphans in a vast, ancient mansion that he rents. Arun chooses to rent out the first-floor room because he frequently struggles to make ends meet and has a lot of debt. His first tenant, Seema, is a journalist from the area who soon makes friends with everyone. Arun develops feelings for her.
After a few months as a tenant, Seema receives an invitation to a sumptuous party hosted by a friend.
