Venice has gone through this at least 6 times in its recorded history. It has adapted, and survived - and it will do so now!

This is a good video documentary of the ongoing flooding in Venice; I think that it's important to note the conditions with which the population, including transient tourists, are willing to live, work, shop, and explore through in order to be in that specific place - they are simply unwilling to leave or relocate anyone or anything. The same situation and response can be expected from all populations along coastlines that are and will experience sea-level rise and continued high tide events.

I wish the Venicians good luck cause at this point there is nothing that can be done to stop the inevitable.

All I keep thinking about is how bad some of those places smell like mold. And yes they do cuz I've been there. Even when it's dry in the buildings it still smells stagnant and moldy. No matter what they do to those places it seems like they never fully dry out, and the water damage is unreal. The narrator was being nice just about 90 percent of every place I went has water damage, mold and a bad smell. Let's just say that sanitation is not there first priority, not that the last part matters to me because I welcome germs it's the reason I've never been sick in my life. I exposed myself to germs my whole life to make my immune system better. But anyways I added the last part in there cuz I know alot of ppl are germaphobes nowadays. You can go into a restaurant see a cook sweating everywhere with no shoes/bare feet or gloves on while touching ur food in a moldy water damaged restaurant. Lol. It's true tho. The no shoes thing is more common than you would think and everything else I said is extremely common

I've been hearing that Venice is going to sink for the last 20 years, and it's still here. How come the rich keep buying beach front mansions if that is the case?

Surely the buildings can be taken apart brick by brick and rebuilt on the mainland .its been done before by open air museums to save buildings .at least this could save some of the oldest and most important places.smaller items such as art and records could be moved by boats .I know this would cost millions but I can't think of any other way to save the buildings that are important.

Venice is sinking because it was build on mud not because of sea level rise

Venice was built on marshland and swamp. It was then accessed by new bridges, those bridges brought in stone from the mainland for the rich to build their houses, as more houses were built they began to sink, wooden stakes were then put in to the mud to elevate buildings. Eventually it became a tourist attraction. All of this built on Marsh and swamp land. Nothing what so ever to do with natural climate change but everything to do with environmental factors of building on naturally boggy land. If you look at old maps you'll see how land was 'reclaimed' to extend this city. Take from nature and nature will take it back. 'Climate change' is totally different, it's cyclical, dependant on the earth's tilt, cloud cover, the sun, the planetary alignment, wind, rain, the sea swirls, volcanic activity, earthquakes etc etc, nothing to do with burning fossil fuels ( the hint here is in the name fossil) nor c02. This is a scaremongering video to fool the uneducated in my opinion. Computer generated hypothesis which do not ever include those important elements of cloud cover ( nobody can predict clouds) do not constitute scientific analysis, its a thought process only for money making schemes like wind/sea turbines made of resin that cannot be recycled.
