Climbing and Camping at Pinnacles Hut - Mount Somers NZ

Күн бұрынAn overnight mission in the Mount Somers Area. A friend and I hike into Pinnacles Hut with our climbing gear. With excellent weather we do some outdoor lead rock climbing on the pinnacles near the hut and spend the night camping under a clear night sky - lit up by the milky way.
It was a super fun trip, something a bit different. Hiking in with climbing gear was a new experience I look forward to doing more of it in the future.

This is fun change in content, I am looking forward to seeing more of it... you might find your pack gets lighter as an excuse to carry more climbing gear... hahaha... Great video as always.

It's a great walk around Mt somers, one of my first overnighter. The water caves closer to woolshed hut are worth the adventure threw.

Cheers mate. Yeah I hadn't been in the area before, it's a cool place. I think there are some crags at woolshed aswell so I'll have to get over that way at some point. Cheers

Stunning views, super keen climbing those rocks😮The youngest is away on camp to Mavora next week, after seeing your sleep system on this trip I don’t feel quite so bad about the 3.8mm SIM she’ll be using 😅

Hell yeah bro. Biggest shock of the video was the 3/4 foam mat 😆I might start using a Z lite but not sure about cutting it down yet

Haha I was wondering if you'd spot that. I've used it on my past 3 or 4 trips. It's actually pretty good aye. I sleep well and I don't slide off like I do on my thermarest. Will see what temps/time of year I swap it out but plan on taking it into autumn. Cheers bro.
