I thought I recognized one of your guides. Joe Zuiches; great guy, fantastic guide. He died a few years ago unfortunately, he was doing avalanche control work in Tahoe at a ski resort and his blasting charge detonated early. Died instantly. R.I.P. Joe.

Yeah, it's way-cool in summer time. Just try plan on camping somewhere close for a few days, drive up to Paradise patrking lot and plan to spend about 5 hours on a day hike at least. There's so many trails. But you need a permit to go above 10k feet I believe. It's so cool when the skies are clear!

Thanks for the nice words. All the best with your upcoming climb. What route and month are you going? Used the built in microphones -- too bulky/heavy to bring anything else. The panoramic were stitched together photos or handheld pans. The photos had basic white balance corrections. The video portions were not color corrected.

@hbrownton
@hbrownton 5 жыл бұрын
Ditka1 With 50-75 mph winds, it was too dangerous to try to enter the crater rim, as the winds were even higher at the top. We were barely hanging on. All climbing parties turned back that day. The sun being out is immaterial. We were in whiteout conditions as we approached the crater rim.

Bro, your pack is 45 to 50 pounds! You're gonna be sucking on this trip. When I did Rainier, we limited our packs to 25-30 pounds. Get a floor less Chouinard Pyramid Shelter for a tent, cut your full length climbing rope in half (we used a 9mil), eat like a monk, use a 2 pound down bag, and go ultra minimal. You will be glad you did when out on that frying pan snowfield on the way to Muir.
