Back to back weekends of peak bagging in the Missions. After summiting McDonald peak last weekend, Stefan and I headed back in, from the west side. We parked at the Mission falls trailhead, and immediately began bushwhacking up to the ridge of Kakashe. Once on the ridge, we found the surprisingly good shape trail with numerous drawn out switchbacks as it gains elevation. Once right below point 8052, we traversed a short cliff band, and scrambled up a very loose couloir. From there a steep walk up a beargrass covered slope to the summit. We had intended to add peak 8893 (Flattop), however it was already getting quite hot, and our legs were fatigued from a long week of peakbagging and backpacking. So we enjoyed our lunch and views while the cutworm moths flew around us. On the way down we took the trail down pretty much all the way down to the road. We had no idea a trail in that good of condition existed in the Missions!
