I looked at a lot of music theory videos on KZfaq and you have the most clear and easy to understand videos out of them all. Thanks, for uploading. Keep up the good work. I can't afford to go to school to learn music theory due to my working schedule and your videos have been helpful. I independently read Music Theory textbooks and for the parts I do not understand your videos help bring clarity in those areas. Thanks again -- grace and peace.

A good basic guide, but these signs can have more than one possible meaning, particularly the so-called 'upper mordent'. Anyone interested, look up also Schnellers and Praltrillers (as well as basic short shakes). It's a bit of minefield really, but this is just the start.

Very clear explanation. My piano teacher uses the term 'inverted' for the lower mordent. Thanks for posting this video.

hello...please let me know how to play an lower double mordent e.g. in the ABRSM Grade 6 piece Pastorella in F major by J.S. Bach. Thank you.

Bach’s trillion (or as you call it, upper mordent) starts above and turns twice. I always wondered if it is dictated by the style and period. How can you know the difference of whether to play an upper mordent or what Bach instructs?

I'm learning Rondeau by Dulphy from his premier livre it has a mordent with a tail on the top right of the mordent. I don't know what it's called anywhere, does anyone know?

i'm not sure if mordents fall on the beat (down beat) or before the beat. i guess the use of metronome would've made this nice lesson precise. :)
