Agreed. Watching the Hawkeye show has put a lot of that into perspective as well, like it should - he's a hero BECAUSE he's you and me. He's a guy with a stick and a string who's using what he's good at to make the world a better place. In some ways, I think he's more heroic than the rest - the stakes are higher, he's got a family to protect, but he still fights the good fight. Beautifully executed character. You want to stand behind the rest of the avengers, but Black Widow and Hawkeye? You want to stand WITH them.

@@gabbafreekil5237 Yup he is underrated, he is practically the reason why some of the Avengers are Avengers... He was sent to kill Nat, and Thor(when Thor became human) but he didn't, he was also a factor in encouraging Wanda to become an Avenger

I also feel like Clint pulls his punches a **lot** in canon. It may just be so thay they can portray him as weaker than the others, but in Hawkeye, we see his ability as Ronin when he was still clearly pulling his punches and he’s so much better than we were led to believe

Doesn't help that they have yet to include some of his utter badassery from the comics. The original reason he went deaf was because he bit down on one of his own sonic arrows to cancel out a mind control attempt and save his friend. Clint don't give a fuck

Also, I headcannon that Tony tries to come up with an impossible trickshot and Clint pulls it off while drunk. Twice. Mainly because the first time Tony calls it a lucky shot.

He offers a lot in terms of crowd control and taking out the masses. 1v1, he’s probably the weakest Avenger to fight. But 1v50, he’s never going to lose. And in fights like in Civil War where he can just switch and hold people to where he creates those 2v1 fights or gives other people the chance to recover. And in Avengers, he showed how he can just take out the Helicarrier with ease as and just wipe out the biggest asset the Avengers have. He also helps ground everybody, cause he’s the only one of the originals who actually has something outside of being a superhero. He knows the consequences both on a personal and global level. Apart from Cap, no-one will try more in battle than Clint.

Because he woke up the beast. He spoke about Clint has wife and children while Ross was listening. And he clearly knew about Ross listening because later he shut down any listening while talking to Sam. Clint's wife and children were supposed to be off any radar for nobody to be able to have pressure on Clint because of them. Clint trusted Tony and brought him to his home when they needed to lay low. And that's what Tony did with the secret he was entrusted.

I don’t think anyone on the planet would stop Clint at a time where his wife and kids are threatened. Those who do always stay away and even hide from Clint. Because for a man who’s seemingly ‘weak’ compared to literal gods and men frozen in time, he is a danger in any situation and can give almost anybody a worthy fight. His main weakness is that he holds back. But if he didn’t, I think he’s the only OG Avenger who couldn’t be taken down by any one Avenger. He’d dispatch of Natasha and Tony with relative ease, Thor would be a bit of a challenge but those trick arrows could definitely incapacitate him. Hulk would be a massive challenge but Clint would find it surprisingly easy to take him down, probably putting him to sleep. Cap would be an incredibly tough fight but any poison arrows or stunning arrows would leave him open for Clint to disarm him and take his legs out.

People tend to forget he’s a trained assassin too! He’s not short on skills, and neither is he useless without a bow and arrow. He’s probably one of the best fighters hand to hand and with other weapons as well. Also he worked with Natasha as his partner for years… I’m sure he knows her and her fighting styles better than anyone else!

And she was in the red room! Everyone forgets that Clint Barton against normal trained soldiers is terrifyingly strong. His bow is a 250lb draw weight...Olympic level bows pull just under 49lb. Not even Thor can draw his bow. He is in *peak* human condition, and everyone forgets this.
